Donald Trump’s Follow Up to Previous Statement About Sen. John McCain

Earlier, 2016 presidential contender Donald Trump made a very ignorant statement about senator and Vietnam POW John McCain that may have greatly hurt his chances at the White House.

Trump said he favors “people that weren’t captured” in war.

Here’s the Donald’s follow up…

There’s no doubt that McCain is a Republican in name only, but I feel Trump lost a good portion of potential voters by disparaging a member of our armed forces.

Donald can say he is “fighting for our Veterans,” and I’m sure he supports them now and would as president also, but this may be hard to walk back.

John McCain......who told all of us Americans that Obama would be a good POTUS, right after his (Obama’s) association with Black Racist & America hater, Rev. Jeremiah Wright was revealed. McCain has a big mouth, but does nothing!!! Both McCain & Romney were weak POTUS candidates. McCain will be beaten in his primary next year by a conservative Republican. When you look at how McCain has gone up against our veterans and the families of Vietnam MIAs, you’ll trash Trump for not trashing McCain more.

He is not a member of our Armed Forces. He was 40 years ago. I thought only the Left "Feels" instead of using logic and reason. That is perhaps the reason you have not a clue about members of the Armed "Forces.

..... Even though I really enjoy Mr. Trump's brash politically incorrect and at times brutal honesty to force issues into the limelight ........ I do think he has definitely engaged in a little Shark Jumping with his remarks about McCain.

...... It will be interesting to see how he handles this. I definitely don't want him to bow out at this time. He is actually making this Election season very entertaining and he is definitely needed at this point. However, despite his colorful persona ...... Unfortunately .... his views on Socialized Medicine and previous support for Liberal causes will eventually sink him among the RCC ..... the Republican Conservative Constituents.

It’s true McCain graduated at the bottom of his class at West Point. It’s true he crashed two planes and then was captured. It’s true he was tortured in those years of captivity.

Trump enjoys sticking pins in people with petty personal attacks and enjoys the fracas it causes. That’s okay for a social gadfly but a US President shouldn’t engage in petty personal attacks. Stick to the issues.
