Fans at Daytona International Speedway are defending and displaying their Confederate flags.
At NASCARs first race in the South since the racing series and its tracks urged fans to no longer wave the banner, dozens of Confederate flags were scattered throughout the vast infield.
The first motorhome inside the Turn 4 tunnel has one flying high above it, and it doesnt take long to reach double figures when counting them on a stroll through the infield. Theyre on clothing, coolers and cars, and even tattooed on skin.

The General “snappin’ da’ zee”.
America was once large enough for people of many different views to live together in peace.
Everything wasn't poisoned by liberal politics..
But liberals today cannot stand for anyone to hold views they disagree with.
The more they preach diversity they less they practice it.
They sow the seeds of hate within their victim groups, like blacks and homosexuals, and use them as surrogates to steamroller any person,
group, organization or business who doesn't conform with liberal orthodoxy.
NASCAR has pooped in their nest. When you audience demographics is redneck, its rather stupid to tell the majority of your customers to go away.
Maybe NASCAR is going to promote to the sagpanks crowd and start running 225’s with 22” wheels and spinnas. Bet that works out as well as tipping.
I always thought that if blacks had taken the stance that they should keep displaying the flag so as to remember the past and put in on their bumpers, etc., they would have taken control and diffused the political volatility of this issue long ago.
the attendance at Nascar races is down...you’d think they would make nice with their fans...who belong to the average working class and pay out big bucks for the merchandize, tickets, etc...
And his two sisters. Ora Lee and Anna Lee.
Didn’t see that coming—rebels told them to go to ....
The 413 is a wedge engine, known because the combustion chamber shape. Hemis breath better than wedge engines usually.
Lowbridge,
Many thanks for posting this!
Good to hear people didn’t cave...
NASCAR can pussify, but it can’t take the long time fans with it....
The original “Hemi” was named for the hemispherical combustion chamber. This resulted in the use of large valves that sis not suffer the normal shrouding issues of a standard wedge arrangement. The valves were aligned in opposition rather than side by side.
Together with the centrally located spark plug, the arrangement resulted in the use of higher compression, better flame front travel and better intake/exhaust flow (breathing) because of reduced angularity of the ports.
In simple terms, air/fuel entered and exited much easier and made more efficient use of every power stroke.
The problem with the design is that it takes more hardware and is physically larger (note the width of a valve cover on a hemi vs a 413/wedge design. But in the overall, a hemi will make more power and ‘enough more’ to overcome the size/weight issues.
Probably a Max Wedge or "semi hemi"
Just as the Uniparty government wants to replace the middle class with 3rd world immigrants, NASCAR wants a new fan base and replace its perceived redneck image. Good luck with that FAGCAR.
Wow! A Broke Back Lee!!!
The Black Panther flag offends me.
The ISIS flag offends me.
The Confederate flag does NOT offend me and it shouldn't offend anybody else if they know real history, not the revised version that the Democrats have been teaching.
A lot of feelings about this flag right now but to me this flag has never been about slavery and it wasn't to most Southerners. My family came here from Scotland and the Netherlands in the early 1700's. They settled in the Appalachian mountains. My ancestor fought in the Revolutionary War with Washington. When they came here from Scotland they became 100% Americans, not hyphenated Americans.
I was fortunate enough to be able to talk to my Great-grandfather about the Civil War when I was just a little child. He was born in 1865 and died in 1963. He was told stories first hand about the war by his father, who was actually there. He said that most Southerners, including our family, never owned any slaves and never believed in it. He told me that the slave owners were the wealthy plantation owners and politicians.
My ancestors had no intention in fighting in this war. The thing that got them involved was when the Northern army invaded their farms, killed their livestock, and burned their homes for no reason other than they were Southerners. My family was barely scratching a living out of their farms and the Northern armies destroyed everything they had. Most of the Confederate soldiers that fought in that war were fighting to protect their homes, not the right to keep slaves.
We need to remember what this flag really stands for. If we don't, I can see history repeating itself. Slavery was a terrible thing. The war was a terrible thing. Southerners will never forget and they will never give up this flag. Regardless of why any individual thinks was the reason for this war, remember one thing. If our government attacked us once, they can and will do it again. THAT is why we in the South cling to our God, our guns, and our flag, American and Confederate.
I am ashamed, angered, and saddened that some extremist hate groups have adopted it for their evil purposes. That is not what this flag has ever really been about.
I will never apologize for honoring this flag and I will never be ashamed of it.
Odd. Until they said not to, I had no desire to fly any flags but the red, white and blue and the Lone Star Texas flag!
Until now.......Now I applaud every single protest made by folks flying that battle flag!
Sentence of the day!...no, the week!

NASCAR's official headquarters are located in Daytona Beach, Florida, although it also maintains offices in four North Carolina citiesCharlotte, North Carolina; Mooresville, North Carolina; Concord, North Carolina; and Conover, North Carolina.[4] Regional offices are located in New York City, Los Angeles, and Bentonville, Arkansas while international offices are located in Mexico City and Toronto. Additionally, owing to its Southern roots, all but a handful of NASCAR teams are still based in North Carolina, especially near the city of Charlotte.
NASCAR is 2nd to the National Football League among professional sports franchises in terms of television ratings in the United States.[5][not in citation given] Internationally, its races are broadcast in over 150 countries.[6]
In 2004, NASCAR's Director of Security stated that NASCAR holds 17 of the Top 20 regularly attended single-day sporting events in the world.[7] Fortune 500 companies sponsor NASCAR more than any other motor sport,[8] although this has been in decline since the early 2000s.[9]
