Donald Trump A Trojan Horse To Knock Out All Other Republicans But Jeb Bush?

Posted on 07/03/2015 6:03:04 AM PDT by Enlightened1

I heard this "theory" from a friend, and decided to throw it out to Free Republic.

My friend (no proof) said that he believes Donald Trump is a Trojan Horse....

Trump's is only there to pull people away from the other campaigns of Cruz, Walker, Paul, etc.... in order to eliminate them.

Then once it's down to Trump and Bush in the Primaries, then he will step down.

Leaving us with Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton will easily defeat Jeb Bush, and she will be the next President.

Hopefully this nightmare scenario will never come to pass.

Thoughts, comments, or opinions?

That pretty much describes everybody on both sides of the aisle.

How true, how true.

Trump is innately fascinating to a lot of people. He understands media and marketing. He has a certain level of charisma.

He's talking about stuff that other people don't want to talk about.
He does not back down.
He is unafraid.

All of this is refreshing and may convince the public that smarmy, vapid career politicians (Hillary, Jeb) are not what the country needs.

I do not expect to vote for Trump. He is currently my #2 pick. But I do not expect to vote for Trump.

I'm for Cruz all the way, and in some respects I think that Trump helps Cruz. There is an overlap in their views and Cruz is actually a more mature, smarter and experienced politician. I think Cruz benefits from Trumps willingness to talk boldy early in the race.

Well, he has proposed building a wall and making the Mexicans pay for it.

A wall would solve a lot of problems.

We were promised one by the GOP in 2007.

In eight years, over ten million illegals came across.

I heard on Rush’s show (?...maybe Hannity’s?) that this is a theory being heavily promoted by the lefties....fwiw.

Like others have said...why would Trump be attacking Jeb!’s main issue...the loving illegal aliens?

Oh please, with the exception of a few, the whole GOP field are horses’s asses, not Trojan horses.

A big, big issue IS the money issue .... and Trump could care less

If this campaign broke him (it wouldn't, but if .. ) ... he'd have it back before he died and enjoy the ride to recovery.

Salesmen LOVE Trump

This already happened in 1992. By early summer, Ross Perot was LEADING in some of the polls. Then he hit the self-destruct button.

Then later that year, he got back into the race, just to make sure he would pull about a fifth of the electorate away from voting for Bush over Clinton.

And it worked! Despite acting as crazy as a bat, he got 19% of the country to vote for him that November.

Trump does help Cruz. Cruz came out with favorable remarks about Trump the other day - their positions overlap on many issues and Trump has been somewhat of a lightening rod on issues other candidates (except Cruz) avoid. A Venn diagram on their supporters would have too much overlap for them to be running mates thought.

Perot hated Bush and that is why he got back in the race to be the spoiler. He gave us the Clintons and that will be his epitaph.

Worse than a disrupter, he’s trying to beclown the conservatives. Even on the East Coast he’s widely considered a blowhard and an oaf. The rest of the country will get to hear conservative positions expressed absurdly and offensively by the Trump clown. And later in the show, other candidates will be asked about their conservative positions in this manner: “Do you agree with (the clown) Trump...?”

Meanwhile Trump rakes it in, attention plus cash. If he had any respect for the political process, or for the American people, he would run for Congress, or mayor, or some state office. He’s unqualified for the presidency, he knows it, he doesn’t care.

Nope. This "stalking horse" or "trojan horse" conspiracy nut crap has floated up (and you know what floats, right?) in at least the last couple of elections -- this or that (usually temporarily front-running) candidate is a "stalking horse" or "trojan horse" for the "real" candidate, who was selected by some unspecified (fictional, imaginary, delusional) process by some mostly unnamed cadre of all-powerful conspirators.

Trump has peeled away a lot of formerly undecideds or uninvolved (and mostly low-info) potential voters, because he's already very well known. He'll crater the prospects for the various minor candidates, but because he's rich himself, won't soak up potential fundraising dollars from the major candidates who run competent campaigns.

Meanwhile, Christie will draw blue-Pubbies who don't like Bush, Kasich and Graham will draw blue-Pubbies (and Log Cabin types) who don't like Christie, Perry will draw from all four of them. The Donald can't actually beat anyone else in the race, but polls well, draws headlines, and (perhaps most importantly) draws fire. At best, he'll wind up VP running mate.

If that’s the case Trump is indeed a fool like Perot before him.

Trump has never proposed an immigration policy or a resolution to the illegal immigration problem.

Nor will he. He can't, and it isn't his purpose. He's onstage to parody Republicans, period.

JEB BUSH = Never worked a day in his life, his ENTIRE family has become rich off their influence in government. They cannot and do not represent anyone but themselves and the interest of their own family and business partners. In it for the money and for the money only. He goes to sleep at night with someone who is tied to the illegals.

DONALD TRUMP = A guy who works for a living. Is not a parasite. Not in it for the money. Goes to sleep at night with who you see above.

I'd say Jeb Bush is not even in Trump's league.
