OREM, Utah — Police say a shopper with a concealed weapons permit fatally shot a suspect to thwart a carjacking Saturday outside a Utah grocery store.
... the shooter ... heard a woman’s screams as she was being pulled from her SUV by the suspect ... went to assist the woman and fired one round after the 27-year-old male suspect lunged at him in an attempt to grab his gun.
The suspect, who was shot in the chest, later died at a hospital.

Earlier Saturday morning, police received ‘multiple calls’ regarding the man who was later shot and killed..... He had reportedly ‘assaulted a woman’ and was driving about Orem with two passengers.
A short time later,.... he reportedly ‘stole a Ford pickup’ from the owner’s residence. The owner gave chase in another vehicle, with Orem police attempting to chase both vehicles.

I go to the range once or twice a month. Use only body targets at 7 meters and 12 meters and sometimes do point blank draw and fire. All training is in condition 1 with IDF mod. draw and point shooting. People ask me all the time why so close up and personal? If the range to target is over 12 meters you should have you AR or 870 in use. Hand gun combat is up close and personal 99 % of the time so train that way.
