OREM, Utah Police say a shopper with a concealed weapons permit fatally shot a suspect to thwart a carjacking Saturday outside a Utah grocery store.
... the shooter ... heard a womans screams as she was being pulled from her SUV by the suspect ... went to assist the woman and fired one round after the 27-year-old male suspect lunged at him in an attempt to grab his gun.
The suspect, who was shot in the chest, later died at a hospital.

If the dead guy is one of Al Sharpton’s kids, I pity the poor guy that nailed him as well as the cops, and the city.
The act is not amazing. It happens with some regularity.
What is amazing is that AP and the Washington Post both covered the story!!!
We are Winning the fight to restore the second amendment.
Unlike Baltimore, there may not be enough young Amish scholars in Utah to incite a good riot, unless they can enlist the Mormons. However, I cannot recall any recent Mormon rioters.
When a legally armed citizen takes out a perp we can usually be assured it was a good shoot. Not so much if the cops had shot him.
Now THAT is what I call a happy ending..will there be a PERPSLIVESMATTER protest for the dead scum bag
#Well,Bye
More importantly it was served faster than he could evade it.
Recently on another thread a forum member with a relatively new sign-up date made a point that he/she did not feel a need to carry, If I recall correctly, the thread was about condition of carry.
Well, this story alone is a good reason to carry esp if you live in high crime areas, you may be able to take care of yourself and feel no need to carry (ahem), but it sure was nice for the lady in this story that a concealed carry person was able to step in and help save the day.
The important questions are: what calibre, what bullet, location of shot placement and shot to down time...
I just bought a purse with a concealed carry space. Just unzip a zipper on the outside of purse and reach in.
When I go to Utah(specifically SLC), I don’t expect to have to have problems with the locals.
“Here, I’ve got something for you....”
Well, that’s interesting isn’t it?
I am just waiting for the idiot media to start crying about the fact that it was just an SUV, he didn’t need to be shot and killed.
My answer to them is “YES; HE DID, HE WAS ESCALATING AND WOULD HAVE ENDED UP KILLING SOMEONE”.
You and me both.
Car-jackers deserve to get jacked. Love it.
Wish I was up there. We could have a party and spit on a picture of the dead perp.
...and we’ll have a better evening. Love it.
From the article:
“A 27-year-old man was fatally wounded in the parking lot of an Orem grocery store Saturday morning when he was shot by a man attempting to stop him from carjacking a woman’s SUV . . .
‘The citizen shoots one round, shoots the suspect in the chest,’”
Now THAT’s gun control! :-)
Aim small, miss small, I heard.....
