Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said he believes that President Barack Obamas first executive amnesty for so-called DREAMersthe Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)is important and he wont reverse it himself if elected president. He delivered these remarks in a Spanish-language interview he gave to Univisions Jorge Ramos.
I believe DACA is important. It cant be terminated from one moment to the next, because there are already people benefiting from it, Rubio said in Spanish on Ramoss television program, according to an English translation provided by the media service Grabien. But yes, it is going to have to end. It cant be the permanent policy of the United States, and I dont think thats what theyre asking either. I think everyone prefers immigration reform.
Ramos followed up, according to the translation, by asking: But then, to clarify, you would put an end to DACA once immigration reform is approved, but what would happen, Senator, if there is no immigration reform; would you cancel DACA anyway?
Rubio answered that DACA will end only when a legislative substitute with the exact same or similar policy prescriptionsa legislative amnesty for illegal alien minorsis implemented. He also said in Spanish that, if elected president, he believes that America cannot deport illegal aliens here in the country right now, and he expects a legislative solution will be implemented that essentially has all the parts of the massively controversial Gang of Eight bill that he would pass piece-by-piece.

This is a question I have been struggling with.
I would vote Cruz and a couple others over Rubio in my sleep. However, when it comes to the big dance assuming Rubio is the nominee, who would withhold a vote for Rubio giving it by abstention to the liberal?
Kiss it goodbye, Marco.
“And yet Im implacably against illegals getting citizenship, staying. I cant really make the two fit together, but looking at the big picture, not just one instance, Id still say NO to illegals. cringing. And Id help my wonderful friend in any way I could.”
I think the way to mesh the two is to make the distinction between one individual and millions of them.
We might know one or 5 that are good, hard-working, honest (other than breaking our laws by being here) illegals that we personally like. The problem is that there are so many flooding this country and many are criminals, taking taxpayers money, and refusing to learn English.
And our laws are either important or they are not.
I know many more good immigrants that came here legally. They pay taxes and are overall more a benefit to this country.
If an illegal was really that decent of a person, they would figure out how to be here legally. if they have no interest in doing so, they are just here to take from us and not be one of us.
Anyway, that’s how I differentiate between personally liking someone but not their actions- or the net result of millions of those actions. Escaping Mexifornia also made it easy to see how unchecked illegal immigration can ruin a state.

Why support more of the same crap?
I wonder if there are any Rubio supporters or trolls left on this site after this.
My challenge is for them to come out of the closet.
I heard Rubio say this same thing in English on one of the Fox interviews the other night. I think it was the same day as the gay wedding quote. He must have borrowed Mitt Romney’s handlers.
Makes you sick that Rubio cares about ethnicity first, America last. The guy is just one more internationalist. I don’t trust him. Bob
El y Sr Bush conjuntos.
Guess Rubio just killed himself politically. Unless Jorge el Tercio is nominated, in which case he might wind up as Veep.
Oh, I see.

Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
In FL, he would be directly targeting Cuban voters, most of whom immigrated legally, as they are refugees from Communist Cuba. As such, Rubio might even lose support among his own people, since it would NOT be in their interest to accept illegal immigrants, despite sharing a common language...
I mean, Ted's already released an ad in Spanish (the announcer is the same guy who narrates political ads for other candidates in TX).
I've seen the ad, and have a translation of it on a different thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3271004/posts?page=12#12
Make what you will of this, but I don't see how language would be an issue here. With that being said, however, English ought to be the official language of the US, and communication ought to be conducted in English.
” I would think that Ted’s father would stump for him; as English is NOT his first language, he might be tempted to give speeches in Spanish...trying to gin up the legal Hispanic base. “
I have no clue what Ted’s dad will do so we just have to wait and see. My mother’s first language was Italian - but that doesn’t mean she didn’t make English a priority. She learned it as soon as she got here and didn’t speak one word of Italian in the home, since we were an American family.
That’s how legal immigrants differ from illegal. Illegals are just here to take and not to become Americans. At least, it used to be that way - with liberalism I’m sure many legals are not patiotic to this country either.
At least Ted’s ad is very patriotic and not offering our money and jobs to criminal invaders. Makes me sigk though that I have to press 1 for English - after I escaped an invaded state to get back to the US. I make it my mission to inform everyone here about the results of unchecked illegal immigration and how it us cutting our own throats and limiting the opportunities for our children.
And now the MSM loves him
