On Tuesday, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul entered the Republican race for the presidency. Most people assume his natural rival is Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. They waited for Mr. Cruz to respond.
On Wednesday, he did.
Not in the way most people would have expected. Instead of challenging Mr. Paul on the issues, the Cruz team threw down the gauntlet in a different manner. They announced that a group of super-PACs have raised an unbelievable $31 million for the Texas Senator.
That is $31 million.
To put that in perspective, Newt Gingrich only raised $24 million when he ran in 2012. That was Mr. Gingrichs fundraising for the entire year. The Cruz campaign just cruised past that mark with ease.
The traditional wisdom is that most of the Republican money would go to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. But according to published sources, some of the people behind the super-PACs are former supporters of Bush and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
The numbers for Mr. Cruz are huge. The knock the establishment puts on Mr. Cruz is that he is unelectable. Of course, this comes from a group that has pushed a series of electable candidates on America who at the end of the day dont end up with enough votes to win. In 2016, the Democrat nominee (who will be Elizabeth Warren) will end up with well over a billion dollars in legal and illegal contributions to try and win the presidency. Mr. Cruz just showed everyone that he can raise money and he can stay in the fight. {snip}

I would sneak around and plaster those things wherever. Great posters.
Good news for the first candidate I could truly support in a very long time.
I kept praying for a Reagan. Sometimes he listens, eh?
Very Reaganesque response to Rand Pass The Bong Paul.
(I would like to see Paul in charge of an audit of the fed)
Well now that we have a front runner we should take a page from the GOPe playbook and demand everyone else drop out of the race and “unite behind the candidate”.
Cruz is so gr8!! Great money!!
Not trying to be a buzzkill
I still question whether he can survive being marginalized and ignored. Which is coming. The marginalization campaign is having a harder time he hasn’t done the Savannah the Porn-star show, or any other democRAT mediot outlet. So next is to completely ignore him. The next step will be will not to discuss anything he does, or highlight only the mis-steps. If he doesn’t mis-step then there will be nothing to talk about.
As sure as the sun rises in the east they will play this on Cruz, they hate him more than mere words can describe.
Nope.
She's just a little too far left, even for some of the lefties.
She also came out today as opposed to the death penalty for the Tsarnaev piece of excrement.
That alone will alienate her with quite a few, even some of those that think it's time for a female, just not a Hillary female.
Her extreme socialistic tendencies will provide plenty of fodder for her to be chewed up and spit out by Ted Cruz or even Jeb Bush, for that matter.
*Applause for Ted*
Which should not be interpreted by anyone as a declaration of support for him by me, under any circumstances.
Jeb Bush does not need to be the republican nominee...Ted Cruz SHOULD be the conservative nominee!
A great Hispanic legacy. Just waiting for LULAC and the RAZA group to be excited about one of their own finding national attention. Must make them happy.
It is, after all, his self proclaimed lifes vocation.
:-)

It’s harder to marginalize and ignore people with a ton of money.
Thanks, that worked.
