Poll: Walker and Bush lead crowded GOP field
Politico | March 5, 2015 | Nick Gass

Scott Walker and Jeb Bush head a crowded field of prospective Republican presidential candidates in the latest national poll released Thursday.

Walker, the Wisconsin governor, polls at 18 percent, and Bush, the former Florida governor, is at 16 percent.

The poll, conducted by Quinnipiac University, has New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 8 percent each; retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 7 percent; Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 6 percent each; Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 5 percent; former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum at 2 percent; and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry at 1 percent each.

Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead among Democrats, with 56 percent responding that the former secretary of state is their first choice for the nomination.

The poll was conducted before the recent revelations about Clinton’s use of private email accounts to conduct State Department business.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren comes in second among Democrats with 14 percent, followed by Vice President Joe Biden at 10 percent. Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders nabbed 4 percent and former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb received 1 percent. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley polled at zero percent.

The latest Quinnipiac poll was conducted between Feb. 26 and March 2, surveying 1,286 registered voters nationwide with an overall margin of error of plus-or-minus 2.7 percentage points. The numbers include 554 Republican voters, carrying a margin of error of plus-or-minus 4.2 percentage points, and 493 Democratic voters with a margin of error of 4.7 percentage points.

Palin it is time to start considering whether to actually run this time.

This time, for real.

Maybe even, in another party. Stand up for American jobs.

You have to ask why Cruz is being marginalized? The media want to take out the decent candidates one at a time. Cruz is their first target.

Ted Cruz has terrorized the Establishment Republicans, without, however, being able to fully mobilize his latent support within the community of T.E.A. party conservatives and libertarians (two different breeds of cat, by the way).

There is no question of Senator Cruz’ acumen and experience as a debater who marshals his arguments, and can speak extemporaneously at length, as demonstrated with his one-man filibuster in September 2013, forcing a vote on certain provisions of the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010”, has the gumption and moxie to challenge even the most deeply-held assumptions on the part of his rivals, and do it in the face of sharp opposition.

I call it "Phil Donahue Politics". I don't know if you remember his daytime talk show with audience participation (apparently he invented the concept), but he'd walk around the crowd with his foot-long mike and shove it in people's faces, asking them questions regarding the topic of the day. Donahue, being a flaming liberal, was a brutal dictator of a host regarding what people had to say, and if someone betrayed a conservative streak and began straying from the accepted leftist playbook he'd snap the mike away from them mid-sentence and go to someone else.

Today, it's the same way with the liberal media. The only ones who get the privilege of the foot-long mike are the "preferred" candidates.

THEY HATE HIM because:

He’s Hispanic; he went to Princeton and Harvard and was a Debate Champion at both universities (no conservatives are allowed to do that); he’s been lauded by Harvard Professor Dershowitz as the most brilliant Constitutional Scholar he’s ever taught; he’s a Christian, and is against abortion and same-sex marriage; he’s against Amnesty.

He’s for America; for the military; for the space program; he’s pro-life; he supports marriage between a man and a woman; he’s for charter schools; etc., etc., etc.

ANYBODY CARE TO ADD MORE ..????

And .. the Senate told him to sit down and keep quiet .. he was just a JUNIOR Senator .. but his response was classic .. I’m not going to just sit here and say nothing.

That’s the day they knew he was trouble for them.

She’s not running in 2016, and it’s for the same reason she didn’t run in 2012. Most of us have no idea how much of a parent’s time is devoted to taking care of a special needs child.

Gov. Palin has her Sportsman Channel TV show, a separate online tv channel (that fans pay her $10 each a month to view content on) and personal appearances (which she can afford to be very selective about accepting).

As much as her fans say America needs her, I believe she’s doing all she can to balance that against what her family needs right now. Running for elective office would throw that balance way off kilter.

I knew that must be the reason.........Thanks for your posts!

......it’s just crazy how suddenly Walker is getting the boost

.....and last night I had two friends, who I thought were sane people, explain to me Jeb Bush is NOT for amnesty and NOT for Common Core and they could vote for him.

I went home so upset! feeling I was in an alternate universe!!
