More than two dozen states have joined the Texas lawsuit opposing President Obamas executive amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, but more eye-opening is the list of Republican governors whose names still do not appear on the suit.
The seven Republicans who have thus far elected not to join the suit aimed at reining in Obama are Chris Christie of New Jersey, Terry Branstad of Iowa, Larry Hogan of Maryland, Susana Martinez of New Mexico, Matthew Mead of Wyoming, Charlie Baker of Massachusetts and Bruce Rauner of Illinois.
Five of those seven states Maryland, Iowa, New Mexico, Massachusetts and Illinois are actually on record in favor of Obamas executive amnesty plan. In each of those states, the Democrat attorney general has signed a friend-of-the-court brief expressing support for Obamas executive action to grant amnesty to up to 5 million illegal immigrants. The governors of these five states have remained silent and allowed their AGs to take the lead.
The other two states New Jersey and Wyoming have neither a governor nor an attorney general taking a position on the lawsuit that challenges the presidents authority to change immigration law.

It took us nearly 11 years, LePage said of an effort to help a Jamaican family get a visa when they followed legal immigration law. Why should everybody just get one tomorrow?
Asked if he would embrace greater legal standing for immigrants in Maine, such as worker permits, after Mr. Obama issues his measure, Mr. LePage swatted away the idea as unacceptable,' Barbaro added.
I am fighting it, not helping it, LePage said of Obamas executive order.
Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...[Posted on 04/21/2013 1:52:42 PM PDT by SoConPubbie]
[but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
I knew that my governor (Bruce Rauner of IL) would be on that list. Last March, he said that he agrees with the law that allows illegal aliens to get driver’s licenses.
He’s liberal in other ways. He’s pro-choice, and he wants to increase the minimum wage.
Well, that didn't take long!
Maryland "Freak State" PING!
Disappointing.
+1.
About right..............
Groooaaaan. Nothing will change.
Trying to recall when that was, ...
Nope. I got nuttin'.
I do remember well when he raised the sales tax from 4% to 5%. (Or, was it 3% to 4%?)
Anyway, he's BransTAX to me from now on. Him and his (token female) LtGov.
Maybe this was when he was Lt. Gov.
That’s when I was covering the Iowa State House...
Why do we assume that, in states where the Attorney General’s office is an elected position, the will of the Attorney General is necessarily subservient to that of the Governor on legal matters?
I am not Hogan quite has free reign over MD. He was not even in office before the democrap knives came out.
NM list PING!

Yep, for a years now I've been saying:
Given that Conservatives and (small L) libertarians are the real RINOs now that the Republican Party has moved so far left, I propose a new acronym for the liberals and squishes that run the Party now Democrats In All But Label Only.
Or DIABLOs for short.
(It is purely coincidencethat Diablos means Devils, in Spanish.;-)
“Actually there was an article someone posted here in the last few days about undoing a drivers license law in NM. It has overwhelming support across the state so i am somewhat surprised by Martinez.”
There is overwhelming support for a requirement to show photo ID at the polls as well. The problem here is the same as on the national level: so called ‘republicans’ are just an extension of the democrat party.
I cannot express enough how disappointed I am with Susana. I regret helping her get into her first term in office. Her supporting of Obama in any way shape or form (amnesty) puts her clearly in the enemy’s camp.
