Prayers to God in wrong spot? (Temple Mount location 'misplaced'?)
WND ^ | February 23, 2015 | Leo Hohman

It has been called the most contested plot of land in the world — the fissure at which three major faiths come together, and break apart.

There have been holy wars fought over it and holy writ foretelling of battles yet to come. It’s Jerusalem’s Temple Mount.

But what if history got it wrong? What if the spot where Solomon built the first Jewish Temple, and Herod built the second, was actually about 600 feet to the south, in a place known as the ancient City of David?

Enter Robert Cornuke. He travels the world solving Bible mysteries: Noah’s Ark, the Ark of the Covenant, he’s studied them in depth. Now, he’s obsessed with the Jewish Temple.

His self-deprecating sense of humor and easy-going style have helped him gain access to some of the world’s most sensitive archaeological sites.

But don’t be fooled.

He attacks each mission with the doggedness of a street cop skilled in investigations. That’s because he was a street cop for nearly a decade in California before a three-hour gun battle with a man holed up with 700 rounds of ammo some years ago caused him to rethink his career options.

His new book, “Temple: Amazing New Discoveries that Change Everything About the Location of Solomon’s Temple,” is turning heads in scholarly circles for its pure audacity.

To suggest that the traditional Temple Mount, where Jews have prayed at the Wailing Wall and where Muslims pray at the Dome of the Rock, is actually not the holy ground they believe it to be, is sacrilege to many historians and archaeologists, not to mention clerics.

Yet, his case is so well researched that it’s hard to ignore. Many are reading, and re-reading, perhaps hoping to find some obvious blunder that would allow them to discount its conclusion.

I wish I could remember where I read it but it was too long ago. The premise was the Temple is not where the Dome of the Rock is. The claim at that time was the Dome was built over the Fortress Antonia.

Thanks. There are photos, and it's well worth the read.

Cornuke’s effort won’t stop the Islamo-fascists from trying to destroy Israel and the West.

Thank you.
the Temple is spiritual

Up until about 1830, Christians believed that Daniels 70 weeks prophecy had all been fulfilled.
The final abomination of desolation is not having a pig picking in some temple.

The only reason some desire a different location for the Temple is a Christian religious one.

Since attempting to rebuild the Temple is fraught with so many difficulties that it would take years and war(s) to resolve, those who wish to hasten it would like it to be in an easier location so rebuilding could start quickly. They need the talisman for the Rapture, and they want to be alive to see it.

"An easier location" and perhaps easier times between now and then? As for the desecration, their forefathers already did that in 70. Apparently, they missed the activation of the great Kirby in the clouds by nearly 2,000 years.

Just take a tour underground of the Temple. The gigantic corner stones are still there. 2,000 years of Jewish tradition, a really big rock with a labyrinth of tunnels underneath are still there. Audacity, indeed. Can this scholar find his own arse in the dark with a flashlight? Or does he need to research that thoroughly, too?

“There is one for my Mom in the wall...maybe...that was twenty years ago....”

I recall reading the prayers are removed from the wall after a period of time but none are thrown away - all are kept.

Well, that’s kewel.

Always figured it just blew away eventually.

Maybe there is prayer tells us what really happened to Kennedy and another that explains why Elvis faked his death...

Oh yeah, I remember seeing the intact pieces on that worldwide tour. And right next to it, a different carny had a freezer with the remains of Bigfoot.

I’m reminded of something attributed to P.T. Barnum — “there’s a sucker born every minute, and two born to take him.”

[snip] Goren repeatedly advocated or supported building a Third Temple on the Temple Mount from the 1960s onward, and was associated with various messianic projects involving the site. In the summer of 1983, Goren and several other rabbis joined Rabbi Yehuda Getz, who worked for the Religious Affairs Ministry at the Western Wall, in touring a chamber underneath the mount that Getz had illegally excavated, where the two claimed to have seen the Ark of the Covenant. The tunnel was shortly discovered and resulted in a massive brawl between young Jews and Arabs in the area. The tunnel was quickly sealed with concrete by Israeli police. The sealed entrance can be seen from the Western Wall Tunnel, which opened to the public in 1996. [/snip]
