It all started when a University alumnus made a $3 million dollar donation to fund the position of Director of Islamic Studies at Duke University. Bettye Martin Musham, who gifted the Islamic Studies Center with the vast sum of money, said that she was convinced that it was the right thing to do after hearing a lecture on the meaning of jihad. Musham said that she and her husband would later become “hooked with the importance of Islam.”
Dr. Omid Safi was appointed to run Islamic Studies at Duke University in July of 2014. He has been the point of contact for several media outlets, including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Huffington Post, in response to Duke University reversing its decision to broadcast Muslim prayers from Duke Chapel. Following Duke’s retraction of allowing for Islamic prayer to be amplified from the school’s chapel, Safi took to Twitter to express his discontent.

Safi’s past statements may shed light onto why he chose to forgo mentioning the religion.
The Duke Islamic leader has time and time again expressed radical ideals through his social media accounts, news articles, and television appearances. Dr. Safi has frequently described the worldwide Muslim community as one that is “oppressed” and “marginalized,” and excused the perpetrators of the Charlie Hebdo massacre as victims of political grievances. He also excused Palestinian terror group Hamas of any wrongdoing, but has in the recent past described Israel as a “terror state” and decried the Israeli Prime Minister and U.S. President Barack Obama as war criminals.

Safi invoked Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (who was a strong supporter of the State of Israel) in order to demonize the Jewish State.

True, but this action represents something far more sinister than that. Too many of our colleges and universities have been taken over by secular revolutionaries who hate the moral values of traditional America. This minority uses their degrees and their tenure to oppress and censor, through political correctness, anything which opposes their own views, goals and aspirations, even if that means playing with fire. They seem to love and support America’s enemies and to hate her friends. They teach equality and multiculturalism while practicing tight control and force, regardless of what the majority of citizens think. If I were a donor to Duke and upset by what they did, I would not continue to send them money to be used in their nefarious plans and that would go for all the colleges and universities who do the same across this nation..Stop funding them, people and parents. Their lofty reputation is not worth what they are doing to your kids. They are working hard, not to educate young people for survival, but to destroy everything which brings about a decent life for everyone.
The president of Duke and the entire board need to go immediately. By guillotine if necessary. After that this Islamic Center must be abolished as antithetical to higher learning in a free society or turned over to Pamela Geller to run it.
I don’t trust the politicians to make sensible and not abuse their power. So no change to US Construction.
Change the name of the Cathedral to St. Sophia!
Do the good folks of America really need another decieitful group hell bent on totaliarian domination? Just saying...but we already have the democrat party filling that role. Isn’t one enough?

I consider Islam to be a cultural cancer. You can live with cancer, but at some point it will increase in number, metastasize and kill the host.

I agree. I have come to the opinion that when a religion calls for murder and genocide, that it is a dangerous cult. It should be treated like it was the black plague.

It’s a crime syndicate rather than a religion. Time to Legally redefine it. The founder and “ideal man” acted in any number of ways that were criminal, even at the time. Raider of caravans, rapist, pedophile, slaver, murderer, adulterer,and all around fraud and general liar. He supported his criminality with a false claim of Divine authority and threat of damnation for those who opposed him.
In many situations Muslims will attempt to define themselves as victims. Their “laws” do not allow them to attack unless they have first been “attacked.” They will always attempt to define any minor annoyance or defensive response to their violence as an attack upon them or Islam so that there is always a justification for their own acts of violence and aggression.
Indeed. The highest attainment in Mohammedism is to be a martyr for "Allah". And what is a martyr, nothing more than a gloried victim.
