Hedging against a protracted carriage battle with Fox News, Dish Network (NASDAQ: DISH) has signed an agreement to carry Glenn Beck's indie conservative channel TheBlaze.
The move comes two weeks after 21st Century Fox pulled Fox News off the program guides of 14 million Dish subscribers.
"Due to circumstances beyond my control, Dish has removed Fox News and given TheBlaze TV their spot in the channel lineup," Beck wrote on his Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) page over the holidays. "That means if you have Dish, you can now watch TheBlaze on channel 212 and channel 205, 100 percent free.

we too
Don't watch that much TV anyway ... except we DO like the cop shows
“This Fox battle Dish makes me wonder if Obama is involved.”
Fox wants Dish to pay for the entire Fox lineup but Dish says they would have to raise rates to do so. Dish says that would not be feasible.
Dish has market segment problems so they are in a bind on this.
To counter, Dish is rolling out Sling which for $20 a month will provide a few channels on internet. The are targeting this option for people that can get OTA local channels and subscribe to Hula or Netflix.
I was just listening to a little of GB last night, and I just realized something I hate about GB and his show.
He always says “And I predicted back in 2010 that...gas prices would drop, the stock market would crash, Russia would be a problem, the Middle East would become fall to Islamists, (or whatever else the topic of the day is). I predicted this didn’t I?” he always asks his suck up sidekick.
His sidekick then always very enthusiastically answers “Yes! Yes! I remember you did predict that!”
That site and network of his are unwatchable messes of ads, Buzzfeed-style crap news articles, and FAR too many emotional meltdowns.
I watched his show on Fox religiously, and his radio show, years ago. And they were great! Now I wont touch either because they have become so trite.
Beck is a total sellout. Literally.
Kinda like replacing a Cadillac with a Chevy Volt................hey they’re made by the same company!.......................
Whatever, I’m ditching DISH. Moving on to Xfinity Triple Play. I feel like I deserve a 50% discount for the past month’s lack of Fox.
Because he’s got too many miles on him...................
“Glen Beck probably does more in one week to help this country than you have in your whole life”
He enriches himself, that’s it. An open border quisling is no help to me or this nation.
I’m with you there...my wife is slowly getting to the point of cancelling TV...I’ll grant that there are programs I’ll miss, but there just isn’t that much on tv anymore that is worth watching.
It’s practically all reality or revisionist history garbage.
I don’t remember the last time I watched any of the alphabet networks...it’s been that long.
About the only programs I’ll miss are DD and Walking Dead...but can get the DVD’s and watch without commercials.
Internet tv like Netflix is something we’re looking into, may have to switch to the local cable company and go wired vs. DSL to make it work.
That means if you have Dish, you can now watch TheBlaze on channel 212 and channel 205, 100 percent free.”
It’s not free, stupid.
DISH charges for their buffet...
Beck wrote on his Facebook .... “That means if you have Dish, you can now watch TheBlaze on channel 212 and channel 205, 100 percent free.
Is he related to Boehner?
Does anyone here remember when ALL Stations were 100% paid for through advertising?? If FOX really wanted to have fun with Dish, they would put the channel up Non Scrambled for everyone, just like the Velocity Channel, NASA used to be a free channel too on Dish.
I was never a can of Beck but listened on occasion, sometime last year Beck made an announcement he was going to in a couple of days broadcast something that was going to bring down the gov’t or at least change everything as we know it, he made a big deal about it in his emotional way. When he does that I might start listening to him again, fool me once it’s on me, try it again and you drop from my radar, I am told he has done things like this several times.
Get yourself Chromecast.
There are days worth of great shows on YouTube, Hulu, Netflix and Dailymotion.
I cut cable a long time ago, and have not missed it one second.
Just as a blind squirrel may occasionally find an acorn, Beck occasionally makes a correct prediction. What he fails to mention of course, is all the thousands of times he makes an incorrect prediction.
Maybe he caught the same “crying virus” ....
If you wish to challenge him on that it should be simple to search up things he said back then and compare them. He's like O'Reilly in one way; he brings topics and individuals to the public's attention that the enemedia won't touch.
