Hedging against a protracted carriage battle with Fox News, Dish Network (NASDAQ: DISH) has signed an agreement to carry Glenn Beck's indie conservative channel TheBlaze.
The move comes two weeks after 21st Century Fox pulled Fox News off the program guides of 14 million Dish subscribers.
"Due to circumstances beyond my control, Dish has removed Fox News and given TheBlaze TV their spot in the channel lineup," Beck wrote on his Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) page over the holidays. "That means if you have Dish, you can now watch TheBlaze on channel 212 and channel 205, 100 percent free.

The Blaze?
Are they kidding? 24 hours of of click-bait news and Beck having meltdowns?
Beck has always come across to me as a used car salesman. Why is that?
Not sure WHAT to make of THIS trade
If I were Beck I wouldn’t like this questionable honor. I might have even turned it down. And since I’m not, I’ll just not watch. I’ve been a little leary of Beck for awhile now.
No doubt in my mind. It’s the only news outlet they don’t have 100% control or family members working there.
As they do with the other networks.
DISH is getting tiresome with these lost channel deals. If it weren't for my wife's need for it, I could easily live without satellite/cable.
Glen Beck probably does more in one week to help this country than you have in your whole life
You don’t have to agree with him 100% but I am glad he does what he does
We would not even know who George Soros was if not for Beck
Maybe this is a new agreement but The Blaze has been on Dish for quite some time.
The Beck channel was already part of my DISH package, so DISH is not doing me any favors by sticking Blaze (a channel I never watch anymore) into an additional channel slot.
what channel is it that your wife likes?
I gave up cable TV years ago
I can watch almost anything I want to watch OR find something new and interesting on the interwebs these days
I don’t even think I have turned on my TV in a year (I have local antenna and get a surprising number of channels free from the air)
“24 hours of of click-bait news and Beck having meltdowns?”
Ok, I’ll say that you pretty much nailed it regarding some aspects, but overall I really like the Blaze.
OK by me as it brings DANA to the viewers. Yum!
LOL - I had thoughts of side-by-side video of Boehner and Beck shedding tears while offering each other hankies.

I guess it’s a matter of taste. I liked Glenn’s TV show on Fox News. He left after his in-depth series of spooky dude (George Soros). Then he organized the 8/28/10 MLK rally and 500K showed up )scared the libtards). He tried to acquire Al Gore’s channel but Al Jazeera got it (Al the hypocrite). Glenn need’s his own cable channel because his Blaze video shows are good. I just don’t like that Fox News has to get swapped out.

It is called Hallmark Movies and Mysteries (formerly Hallmark Movie channel). It is part of my DISH "America's Top 250" program package. I was going to switch to DTV's "Xtra" package, but it does not include that channel. I was willing to upgrade to the "Ultimate" package, but it wasn't part of that one either. The only way to get it was to upgrade to "Premier" (basically, an everything package that I don't need), or to downgrade to the "Entertainment" package. That was what really annoyed me. I could get it with a lower-tier package, but not with the one I wanted. With DISH, anything on a lower-tier package is included with any tiers above that.
When I called DTV to cancel the order, the customer service lady was trying to talk me into downgrading to get the channel. The downgraded tier lacked too many channels to be worth getting. I just found it amusing that DTV had put the saleslady into a position of trying to undersell me to keep me as a customer.
What I understand is that the issue is bundling. It seems that Fox introduced fee increases for other sports and information channels not part of the original contract. At first I was in Fox’s camp but I don’t support this bundling fee crap so I’m glad Dish is fighting this battle and it isn’t as if they have just fought this battle with Fox News. Dish was one the largest network to add Becks the Blaze so it clearly isn’t a conservative versus liberal issue.

As much as I used to watch Fox News Exclusively.I don’t really miss it any more.If or when the channel happens to come back.I don’t really care anymore.
I respect Fox’s right to get paid a fee commensurate with the quality of their programming, but I don’t expect them to screw their viewers by pulling their programming just before the Christmas Break. Then screwing the viewers again by expecting them to pay for more Commercial time.
I really don’t miss Fox at all.
We already had GLENN BECK..I watch very little of what DISH has on..there are more advertisement and sports channel I am paying for than anything good to watch..We are moving to Direct TV or nothing at all may just scrap the whole satellite thing and go to computer TV.So there is where it stands for us now..I THINK BOTH FOX and DISH will learn a lesson by doing this..We can save a good amount of money by just cancelling it all..
