Whoever runs for the Republican leadership of the U.S. House on Tuesday must communicate on paper how Congress is going to lead on the big issues. The American people elected us to solve trillion-dollar problems, not to kick the can down the road with only symbolic votes. My district expects any leader to clearly outline bold solutions on the major issues of our day, such as:
· How he or she will defend the Constitution and challenge President Obamas repeated illegal overreach into areas of congressional authority, particularly his unconstitutional amnesty by presidential decree;
· How he will end Washingtons out-of-control spending and debt addiction that is mortgaging our childrens future and promises to cripple our economy within the next decade;
· How he will defund Obamacare to stop skyrocketing insurance premiums on struggling families as well as the destruction of jobs its causing;
· How he will stop excessive regulations like the EPAs overregulation of farms and small businesses regulations that have made it prohibitively expensive to run a business and create jobs.
These are not just my priorities. These are the priorities that the American people expressed loudly and clearly on November 4th. And these need to be the priorities of the leaders of this next Congress.

Is the name pronounced, Beener or Boner?
They are not going to handle the Trillion dollar problems. They just want the system to carry on long enough to loot the treasury.
I read in another article that only 29 GOP reps have to vote against Boehner, since he requires a majority for election. I'm a bit confused, because that assumes that ALL dems would vote against him. I bet he gets some Democratic votes. That means the seven public no votes you mention might not be all that significant.
Brat is a big deal, the pros in DC are scared to death of him.
That’s quite true. And also some may vote present, reducing the majority threshold. We’ll see. But I’m still going to keep a count. You can bet Boehner is!
All the Dems will vote for Pelousy.
Yes my FRiend, but the start of a thousand mile journey is the first step.
REMEMBER THE CANTOR!
This is starting to seem coordinated. Slowly building momentum for Boehner to step aside. I sense Cruz has been involved in this, working with the conservative caucus in the House but staying in the background.
John Boehner just engineered the passing of a budget that spends $1.44 for every $1.00 taken in. He and everyone that voted for this insanity should be thrown out of office ...impeached ...forced to resign — Heck, I don’t know but somehow, something has to be done about the social and fiscal massacre we are witnessing.
It’s tricky because it’s Germanic, but it seems to me that if the Nazi bigwig Goebbels’ name was pronounced very close to Ger-bels; the weeping Speaker, whose name has similar spelling, should be pronounced very close to Burner. Most pronounce it Bayner....which is a lazy American pronunciation. IMHO.
I said (asked) about the same thing here-http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3243488/posts?page=10#10
And I’m almost positive it’s 30, not 29. But that is offset by any dimmacrat votes.
Thanks, sounds a bit like the way Goethe is pronounced.
What Treasury? US Treasury is $18,000,000,000,000 in recorded debt and $100,000,000,000,000 in unfunded promised future benefits.
Nope that is not the reason why Boehner & company won’t tackle Trillion dollar problems. If they tried that, they will need to institute belt tightening for all....and that will not be popular. So the politicians will continue kicking the can down the road as long as possible, so they can hold on to the power, keep getting re-elected and enrich themselves in the process. How do you think Harry Reid became a multi-millionaire?.
Bay-ner.
Yes he is. He was a giant slayer.
Cruz being involved is my assessment as well. We’ll see if it’s successful. But it’s going to leave a mark nevertheless.
