At least the cop went home safe that night.
They aren’t there to help you. They are there to show you that they have power over you, and that you are just a peasant.
If that had been my husband with an asthma attack and me behind the wheel, there would have been no stopping, and definitely no begging. I’d have kept going, cop be damned.
Somehow I don't believe that LeBron and company would have cared about this "I Can't Breathe" case.
I don’t suppose it ever occurred to the officer, if he was concerned about the girlfriend being “hysterical”, to put both of them in his cruiser and speed them to the hospital.
We have a tough, dangerous job.
Our brother cop did not get up that morning with the goal of becoming involved in an officer-involved shooting.
If you’re REALLY not up to no good you won’t mind me taking a look, right?
What, are you a hippy..?
Still mad about that ticket, 10 years ago..?
We’re just doing our jobs.
The key thing is for us to go home safely at the end of the shift.
Next time you have an emergency, just call the ACLU.
We have to make split second decisions youre being unfair.
Dont paint us all with the same broad brush.
I don’t think you understand just how highly we are trained.
Were the thin blue line, what, ya want anarchy..?
You must just be a cop hater.
Have more? HELP me complete my list..!
I soul have driven away and then pleaded my case before a jury.
In the old days, 10 to 20 years ago, one would ask the cop to lead the way and follow him all the way in.
There is no discretion left anywhere.
When seconds count the ambulance is minues away.
A society controlled by idiots is a happy society. Deaths are perfectly acceptable so long as protocols were observed and no animals were placed in danger. The girlfriend ought to be thankful that she wasn’t shot on the spot.
I wasn’t there, but how wild was the girlfriend driving that the officer noticed it and pulled her over to begin with?
IMO the best scenario would have been for the officer to be willing to drive them and to have someone else pick up the police car and take it in.
I have asthma, I don’t have time for THAT!
Why not escort the chick's vehicle? The Chief popo needs to be gone.
This is when you keep driving and motion to the cop that you are going to the hospital.
If you have a medical emergency, just keep going to the ER.
Would only be a problem IF he was a black guy..
I watch “Dragnet” about every day. It is an entertaining show.
A few days ago they had the cops speaking to a group of civilians, asking questions etc.
One person asked about having a gun. The answer given was about as stupid as it gets. Officer Gannon says, “You can get to your phone just as quickly as you can get to a gun”.
Did no one writing for that show not realize just how dumb that was?
The cop called the ambulance, which was exactly what he should have done. My sister had a minor stroke at a public place and we drove her to the hospital because she was embarrassed and didn’t want us to call 911.
She waited almost three hours in the emergency room because she hadn’t been brought in by ambulance but could still stand up, walk and talk. The doctor told her that they had missed the stroke window (often, a minor stroke precedes a major stroke, and the hospital had completely ignored this) but that, fortunately, she would have only minor problems, such as floaters, for awhile. If it had been a major stroke and she’d been brought into the hospital in a private car, she would be dead now.
“Chippewa Falls Chief Wendy Stelter says she stands behind the officers who responded, saying that Kressins girlfriend should not have been allowed to drive the rest of the way because she was hysterical.”
So they had to kill the victim for safety purposes?
That was a long video.
From the time the car was pulled over to the time the ambulance loaded him and proceeded to the hospital was nearly EIGHT minutes. The officer should have recognized the distress the man was in and transported him himself.
