thanks obama.
all this is directly on his ass.
he’s the one keeping the borders open. he’s the one letting the planes in. he’s the one who’s flying infected people back. all the people over there think getting on a plane is an option.
If that is true and can be collaborated, the Sheriff and his deputies should be set for life. I would have objected or a least asked for some ppe. Were they not suppose to be trained for this event? That's a job for a specialist. I do pray this is just a false alarm.
Having traveled outside the US a fair amount, I know well that Americans are regarded as obsessively clean to the point of paranoia. So, I'd like to know, to just whom you're comparing us in order to say we stink at proper hand washing?
CareNow.... I thought those were just urgent care clinics... correct me if I’m wrong.
At least then they couldn’t deny it had symptoms. A world on fire has a fever!
They are. Wonder why he didn’t call 911 and explain his situation instead of possibly infecting others.
There is suppose to be a defined rate of how it will spread. I don’t know that algorithm. What is different here is that in West Africa they quarantine (I know politically incorrect) the infection zone and the virus cannot find a new host after it burns out. We cannot do that here.
many studies have been done (self reported survey type) and otherwise that show that many Americans admit to not washing there hands after using the bathroom, and among those that do many report not even using soap.
Perception may be one thing but reality is quite another. While we may have better sanitation than other countries we could do a lot better reducing disease here if we remembered to use some basic infection control methods like good hand washing techniques, Because other countries don’t have the means doesn’t let us off the hook. For what it’s worth I lived overseas in Asia for three years and the perception in Japan that Americans are obsessively clean is simply not true.

somethings wrong with this picture..... un-covered areas
If it truly gets loose, that'll be a zombie world that, being an older fella, I'll not want any part of.
My 'medicine' will cost about $0.75, administered cranially, and will be the last one in the mag.
Any survivors can use the savings for a gala party while waiting for their own liquifaction to set in !
Btw, the whole 'appeal to authority' thing isn't all that persuasive when the 'authorities' in question have so far been about fourteen shades of wrong and/or derelict.
Regardless, good luck with it all.
This deputy sheriff was in the contaminated house for 30 minutes without protective gear, no doubt. We need to use an over-abundance of caution regarding the protocols for dealing with this virus. Assume the virus has become air born, for starters and enact protocols for that. Better to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.
Well that has worked in the past, we may have moved into a different pattern now. It's going to come down to how easily it is transmitted. How lone it lives on hard surfaces.

Two other officers “are feeling ill” after working the scene of the first U.S. Ebola patient, says colleague of Sgt. Michael Monnig. @CNN
Let’s hope it’s just a regular old enterovirus or bad burrito
Nanomachines raised me.
Oh crap. I just died three more times.
Trust me, we dead people are the worst.
How could the other folks get stuck in there for days without problems and then these two officers go in and maybe get sick?
Doesn’t make sense to me; not that I should know anything.
