The Obama administration quietly has been forcing new gun buyers to declare their race and ethnicity, a policy change that critics say provides little law enforcement value while creating the risk of privacy intrusions and racial profiling. With little fanfare, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in 2012 amended its Form 4473 the transactional record the government requires gun purchasers and sellers to fill out when buying a firearm to identify buyers as either Hispanic, Latino or not. Then a buyer must

I looked at the ATF Form and in the remarks, there are none for question 10 pertaining to ethnicity and race. Seems someone forgot to update the form fully before it was published. The reasons for asking this question should be explained but the ATF failed to explain. They explain in great detail every single other question on the form.
Just put down that you are a Redskin. They can’t touch you if you’re diverse.
Funny thing is that the ATF states that YOU MUST answer both questions. All Federal Employment forms give you the opportunity to opt out. The ATF simply stated in a legal case on targeting Hispanics, that they simply updated the form to standardize it with other Federal Agencies; however, other agencies ask it and give you the opportunity to opt out.
by definition
How do they define race of mixed race people?
95% of African Americans have some Caucasian blood in them.
What race is Barack Hussein Obama?
“Whenever there is a race selection on any form I fill out, I put other, and then HUMAN in block letters.”
I do the same but write “Vulcan”
And when this all started they said they wouldn’t retain these records.
American-Citizen
“Whenever there is a race selection on any form I fill out, I put other, and then HUMAN in block letters.”
The other thing you can do is when they as for your sex, just put YES!
The form has always had boxes to check race. In the past that part of the form included Hispanic or Latino. Because neither of those terms refer to race, they’ve been placed in an ethnicity category. Not exactly something to get worked up over...
Give it a shot. Lying on that form is a felony.
I guess I shouldn't be shocked that the Washington Times got something dead wrong, they're not exactly at the top of the compost pile.
Thanks very much for chasing that form down and posting it, I've learned something tonight.
It’s not just wrong, it’s a lie. And it’s a lie that will be believed by a whole bunch of stupid people.
You can put down whatever you want. And change it ea h time. Like Black/Hispanic/Native American/Fijian, that will make them scratch their head.
“What race is Barack Hussein Obama?”
uh...DISG race?
It says to check one or more boxes so just check them all.
The “people” brought this upon themselves when they let the Census zealots require you to disclose useless information (down to citing whether you have a commode or not) on the required census form.
One drip at a time is never noticed by the stupid and the drip, drip is now showing up in gun registration forms.
Who knows? The next “required” answers on your gun purchase form will ask exactly where in the house your gun is stored and the combination to the gun safe if you have one.
If anyone thinks anything will be done over this violation of our freedoms, I have a 1795 year model of a Ford mustang for sale.....cheap! And, it was made back in 1795 by European craftsmen.
>Whenever there is a race selection on any form I fill out, I put other, and then HUMAN in block letters.<
And, as an FFL, I would ask you to cross through your answer, initial the correction and check an appropriate box. If you can’t color within the lines, I’m not selling you a gun.
