¡Ay caramba! Imagine the cries of offensive ethnic stereotyping or worse if Fox News had observed Cinco de Mayo by having one of its yanqui persons of pallor staggering across the set in a sombrero while chugging from a pint bottle of tequila?
But it happened on MSNBC, so the PC police probably won't make a peep about it. At the today's transition from Way Too Early to Morning Joe, there was producer Louis Burgdorf with his Halloween-store sombrero and pint bottle. Way Too Early host Thomas Roberts encouraged Burgdorf "to drink the whole thing and eat the worm," meaning either it was mezcal not tequila or Roberts just doesn't know his south-of-the-border booze.

The Sinko de Mayo story usually gets posted each year on this day. It is a cute, funny story.

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivering Vera Cruz, Mexico , which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York . This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico . But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York . The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico , who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.
The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and
is known, of course, as... Sinko De Mayo.
Mexico does not really celebrate Stinko DeMayo.
I don’t observe stinko de mayo. As a holiday it ranks right up there with quanset.
Savage is right, liberalism is a mental disorder. Liberalism chases the positional goods known as Political Correctness, from there they chastise everyone else for their failings while giving themselves a brain rush.
In my direct experience, liberals are among the most bigoted people I have known.
“I dont know why people make such a big deal about stinky tamales every May 5th.”
You don’t like Hispanic girls? Oh wait, you said Tamales, not Females.
I read it too fast.

P.S. I want equal time. On St. Patricks day MSLSD needs to put a red headed guy wearing a kelly green bowler hat on whilst drinking from a bottle of Jamesons whiskey. It's only fair.
Liberals are not the longest crayons in the box..................
A holiday for beating the French.
What’s the big deal about that? Who doesn’t beat the French?
After some business at my office Mrs. JimRed and I stopped at Chipotle for lunch. Burrito bowls, very good. Not for Cinco, though, just convenient and tasty!
I learned that it is both truly an American and Mexican holiday, arising from an unlikely victory in 1862 against France in Puebla during the American Civil War.....One of the greatest battles that gave the Legion Detrangiers (?) it’s formidable reputation. Fought to the last man, no exceptions. Killed a Lot of MeJicans
The only part you left out of the official story is that...
Since communications was very primitive back then, Mexico did not learn the ghastly news until May 5, a few weeks after the actual sinking of the Titanic.
Hence...
