Poll: Sarah Palin tops list of women Americans want to run for president
The Washington Examiner ^ | March 27, 2014 | Paul Bedard

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the darling of the Tea Party movement, tops a new list of women other than Hillary Clinton who Americans want to run for president.

A series of Economist/YouGov polls, wrapped up in an article released this week, found overwhelming support for women candidates and a woman president, and has Palin on top of eight women most often mentioned by voters as their top choice to run.

Because Clinton is the runaway favorite potential woman candidate in a number of polls, the Economist/YouGov poll asked this question: “Other than Hillary Clinton, is their any other woman you would want to run for president either in 2016 or 2020?”(continued)

I am incapable of being a cultist of any stripe ... but if I was sixteen I’d be curling up tonight with that cover of Newsweek! Bright and gorgeous ... a woman with heart and guts ... and the salivating, liberal lapdog media just waiting to trash her again. I don’t think we can ever rid ourselves of the progressive cancer ... too deep into the bone and marrow of this country. We are being destroyed by our own freedoms ... any lesser country would have rounded up the progressives by now and ... well ... Soylent Green comes to mind. I can’t imagine that ‘libchow’ would be very tasty.

Yep, you are right ansell2. Mrs. Palin makes the libs crazy and pushes them to the point that their vitriol is so toxic that it is a disgusting, and very hateful scene. Mrs. Palin has Dear Mr. President Ronald Regan Character and Love of Country. God Bless her and her family, and our Country.

As Rush always says, “the libs will tell you who the fear....” (well, something like that)

Thanks for your histrionic response. Good luck working in the Christie/Bush campaign. I’m sure they won’t need Palin’s endorsement to run as well as Dole/McCain/Romney

I'm also annoyed at Sarah for sounding like she would run in 2012 and then not doing so. In that one fairly big area, he has a point. [Note: I blame weak supporters who were not willing to face the teasing from those following the mainstream media mantra. ]

If Governor Palin announces for 2016, I will work for her campaign full-time (60+ hours a week) for free. However, I will assume she is not running and encourage our 2nd and 3rd best alternatives to run until we know that she is officially running. The best hope for America is to elect Sarah Palin, but we have to prepare for contingency of settling for pretty good just to make sure we don't get stuck with Christie, Bush, or another RINO.

I agree with him that she was only pretending to run, seemed fairly obvious to me.

Trump did the same thing, the whole time he was still under contract at NBC for his stupid “reality” show.

I remember when she resigned as Governor, choosing not even to finish the term and forgo reelection like Romney did. I thought “well that’s it”. Much to my surprise everyone started telling me that no, it was a “brilliant” move that only confirmed she’d be running for President.

The fantasy continued long past the point when anyone could have entered the race and had a chance, for some it continued all the way up until Romney won the majority of delegates. Perry’s entry in August was about the latest possible for a modern election where the campaigning starts earlier and earlier.

I appreciate her lending support to conservative candidates ,her endorsements are mostly good, with some glaring exceptions like McLame, I agree with all them so far this year.

http://us4palin.com/accomplishments/master-list-of-gov-palins-2014-accomplishments/

I think she enjoys the “conservative celebrity” role and won’t be returning to office-seeking, there has been no indication of anything else. Wishing won’t make it so or else it would have worked last time.

This business of lending support is a good effort. We know from FRee Republic that the slightest taint is adequate to inflame the aginners.

When there is a Sarah endorsement, any taint is blotted and the purity is restored or at least covered up.

She there fore serves a broader, more useful purpose that might be better for all than being elected. That is good

Well what is fairly obvious to me with 20 20 hindsight is that she intended to run and did exactly what she said, never promising anyone anything. I have yet to have anyone show me proof otherwise. She seems to have surveyed the situation and found that a significant portion of what should have been her natural base spent their time either clinging to every MSM hit job or, like a number of Freepers, took an active role in helping libs spread the PDS. Things like helping spread the ‘she quit meme’ without ever taking into consideration the context of that decision.

It’s also obvious that the people who treated this proven conservative of record like a pariah at the libs’ bidding, -also- took it upon themselves to vote for the most liberal ‘Republican’ to ever disgrace the campaign trail...never once having it occur to themselves that the reason they got stuck with Mr. Severe Conservative in the first place was their own actions in helping to sideline actual conservatives throughout the primaries.

We heard lots of hype for Rino Rick the anti fence/pro HPVaccine for kids without parental consent guy. Hell, there were even ‘conservatives’ agreeing with Romney’s abortion stances (the pre election stances he held for decades and gave his cash to). We watched as Cain got the Palin treatment and ‘Conservatives’ rushed to believe the Allred chick who VANISHED after her job was done. The now seem to have forgotten all about that...

We listened to people make every excuse for RINOs at best, whose policies and positions were not a fraction as conservative as Palin, yet were wholly excused and forgiven their ‘lesser evils’. Abd boy howdy did they scream when some people refused to play along with their fantasy world.

But I just can’t for the life of me see why Palin looked at all that and likely said “Pound salt”.

The funny part is, that we don’t really know why. I dont, you don’t...no one but her/family does. We speculate. But what we do know is every bit of the rest of my post is factual and documented right here on the pages of FR.

If we didn’t have the sycophants pushing for RINOs and tearing down people sticking or even ATTEMPTING to stick to principle it wouldn’t be an issue.

Instead people like Sarah who are well above the 95% mark get trashed and ‘lesser evils’ that are far below get the backslaps.

If anyone on our side half thing things Hilary Clinton Did, they would be in prison, but nope. The Media practically has her in the white house already.

Some here are ready to attack conservatives even before the MSMdoes

But I just can’t for the life of me see why Palin looked at all that and likely said “Pound salt”.

It's because many of them are just GOP hacks, not true conservatives.

I think she had every intention to run and then that vicious book and movie "Game Changer" came out along with that now dead author's vicious book, and she and Todd together likely decided their precious family didn't need all the dirty crap that would go with her mounting a campaign against both the "lamestream," as she calls them and the Rove's and RINO's too.

At least that what she said, "her family decided against it," and I believe her.

Bingo Onyx, and for those of you who say "Oh! But she let the Media Defeat Her, She's a Coward Blah Blah Blah"

That is a ChickenSh!t argument. It's something a liberal would do "Go and Suffer and go through Hell for me because I won't do it myself."

That is what the Tea Party is for, Real People taking an active role in government.

That is why I have kept my Tag-line since Nov 2012. It is the Only Solution.

“She has a television show, a spot on Fox News, a streaming paid show, three NYT bestsellers, is paid six figures for a half hour talk and is one of the top five most recognized female politicians in the world. Tell me more about how her “teasing” us in 2011 hurt her.”

I would say that it didn’t hurt her and in fact helped her immensely on a personal level. She’s a political celebrity.

However I also think that’s exactly why she won’t run unless she’s pretty confident of a slam dunk.
Her one run at a national office catapulted her to stardom and she was able to deflect the loss because she wasn’t at the top of the ticket, that loss was McCains, but if she runs for the top of the ticket and loses then her position as a conservative oracle is toast. Then she’s just another failed candidate in a sea of failed candidates.

“Like losing in 1976 hurt Ronald Reagan? Oh, wait....’

Sorry vet but Palin isn’t Reagan. Reagan at that point had years more experience as the multiple term Gov of California.

Palin was in her first term as Gov of Alaska. Right after that she resigned and upped the amount of media gigs she was doing.

I’m not slagging on Gov Palin just pointing out why I don’t think she’ll run.

You touched on the thing I always like to point out when somebody mentions that “so-and-so is like Reagan” solely because of their stance on the issues.

What they leave out is the fact a large part that made Reagan electable, is that he had the skins on the wall, being the Chief Executive of the most populous state in the Country for eight years....That carries much more weight than being a Senator, where it doesn’t require the executive skills required of a Governor, or President.

That’s why I support Scott Walker, Ted Cruz is great, but the fact is, he’s a Senator, and Walker is a Governor who has dealt with, and won over his Democratic opposition. Cruz may be more conservative, but I feel Walker would be more effective in the role. I think the best case is Walker as President with Cruz as Senate Majority Leader.

I agree and that was part of my point. Sarah doesn’t have that same amount of experience.
I would also add that Reagan wanted to be president and I mean he really wanted it. He had already been a movie star and a celebrity and had given that up for political office. Reagan, after losing the primary, didn’t sit out the next cycle.
Again I’m not slagging Sarah. I just think she probably likes the position she’s in now and running and losing would damage that. For that matter running and winning would damage it just as much.

You probably don’t know this (why should you?) but I worked for President Reagan, admittedly as a young spear carrier, so I’m somewhat familiar with that situation. And she’s the closest thing we’ve had since he left the scene, which is reason 21,095 that I support her.
