I dont think the military has switched to 40 but many govt agencies are arming their people with 40’s.

I see piles of .40 S&W in every store, but little of anything else. Where’s the damn .22 LR? Did the military buy .22 conversion kits for all their M16s?

Did we drop 9mm NATO and no one told me ?
last I saw the mediocre (M9) replacement for the 1911 was still being used buy the US ARMY

My understanding is that the military is going back to the trusted 45 auto

Considering that the 9mm is awesome at punching holes but fairly poor at stopping power I don’t get why they wouldn’t move back to the .45, there has to be lots of ammo available and one hit usually does the job, but then again we are talking about police marksman.

It’s probably expired, I’ll take it off your hands for what you paid for it. ;)

M9 are pretty good pistols. The 9mm may not be all that but the pistol is not mediocre. I was in when they made the switch from M1911A1 to M9, guess which pistol less people BOLO’d with?
To: EveningStar
They should apply for foreign assistance.

Maybe Edens got a discount from Glock?
Chief Jason Edens
"The SPD will be trading in 14 used .40-caliber pistols and getting 16 new 9mm pistols. Glock will pay $300 for each trade-in, for a total cost of $2,434 for the new guns."
Glock's U.S. headquarters are in Smyrna which is less than 50 miles from the PD.

Bullet technology has improved the 9mm substantially, but then again, the same holds true for the .45.
If I was shooting something less than the .45, I’d go with .38 Super.

Don't need them. I have a nice Gamo in .22cal that shoots around 1200fps depending on the pellet weight. The Destroyer by Crossman or the Jumbo Monster Diabolo will bring down a raccoon if the shot is placed just right. You can always find .22 hollow points at WalMart in 500rd. tins. There's also some good German hunting pellets with plastic tips that expand. This is what I own.

non-existent at Wal-Mart these days If the ammo makers are being honest with us that they are at Max capacity on ammo production, there is a hole in the Wal-Mart distribution chain were ammo is going out the back doors to the Flippers.
