Must be regional. Everything here but .22 LR because that all gets bought as soon as it hits the shelves.

It's being bought up as soon as it hits the shelves. It's the only thing Walmart is limiting to 3 boxes.

My theory is that folks buy any they can find because:

1. Centerfire can be reloaded, bullets cast or swaged. When your stash of .22 LR runs out that's it.

2. Lots of folks who aren't "gun people" see what the leftists are trying to do and had Grandpa's .22 in the closet and those that didn't bought a .22 'cause it's cheap, light recoil and a hell of a lot better than a sharp stick and harsh words.

My next door neighbor is an Atlanta Police officer. He shoots about 300 rounds (45, 40, 38 and 9mm) for practice on his property every weekend. I asked him how does he get all this ammo and he stated that most stores will set aside as much ammo as they request for LEO’s.

Not to worry there Chief, Odumbo is downsizing the military and soon their will be a glut of .40 cal bullets available. But hurry, the civilians will gobble them up with gusto as they ‘prepare”.

Hmmm, didn’t know that about the gun ranges, but makes sense if there are too many jams or “duds”.

I get it. I am working to get 308 ammo for general purpose use, yet is reliable, and yet, will not break the bank. A very difficult proposition. I’ve paid a buck a round a few times, but now, even 700 a thou is a bit much. I also know that a few gun manu’s will void the warranty if proved that steel was fired through the weapon.
