"In late September/early October, he was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer. As of yesterday, my Mom was told that his liver is failing, and they can't seem to get his electrolytes corrected (potassium too high, ammonia level is too high, calcium is too high, and sodium is too low), which could be what is causing his awful confusion. There is talk about bringing hospice in, but the oncologist is hoping to start him on radiation therapy, since it seemed the chemo drug may have caused too many side effects."

fyi—Florida has lost a FReeper—ThreePuttinDude died today.

Thank you for the kind words and the prayers. My brother, sister-in-law, and I were on our way to the hospital, called to let my mom know. As soon as she hung up the phone, he trembled, took two more breaths, and was gone. We were about 20 minutes too late. I think he knew we were close enough, so my mom wouldn’t be alone for long, and was able to go home. He was a wonderful, kindhearted, conservative who will be greatly missed by many. Thank you all for the prayers! Our family appreciates them! God bless!

My brother was blessed with a similar situation in that hospice had barely arrived when he passed, so no lingering. Ultimately, I think that’s easier on both the dying and the loved ones left behind.

We should all be so lucky to go so quickly. R I P EDINVA's brother.
