I think it's the single most factor which keeps black females unwed with chil'run. They pool the EBT and other assistance to their household with mamma, granny, etc.... So you see people who are making $50K to $100K using EBT cards because their children lease out their uterus for food and phones. City employees, school teachers, city judge, hospital workers, etc.... I see with their ID badges hung from their neck lanyards paying for their groceries with an EBT card.
They pimp out their kids.
Utah is a state, not the nation.
This isn’t the shutdown, this is the debt ceiling. Different crisis, much more severe. This one could actually turn into crisis.

SNAP is the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (commonly called ‘food stamps’).
These days there are credit card looking “EBT” (electronic benefit transfer) cards given to beneficiaries of the program. That way instead of the shame of having the ‘stamps’ like the old days and so the stamps wouldn’t become a currency, the debit card requires the user to present their ID and it’s run like a credit card.
EBT is the common reference now for ‘food stamps’ with benefits being from 100-700 a month depending on the number of dependents in the family and income (if any).
So the money will stop and shoppers will be told, as they were the past few days, “The system is down.” Or a sign at the door, “We no longer accept food stamps.”
This is if the CURRENT state of affairs continues. The ‘shutdown’ is being made more severe to cause more pressure on the GOP to cave. Parks and monuments weren’t enough.
The letter is addressed to ALL STATES.
Utah just happened to be the one to pick up the story first.

All of the lobbyists for Ralph’s, Krogers, A&P, Albertsons, Giant Eagle, Walmart, Kraft, Hormel, Del Monte, Starkist, Campbells, etc. etc., all descending on Capitol Hill in a blood-curdling rage.
How do you expect to have an economy when you can’t sell to people who don’t have any money?

I’m in IT. When I see the letter in the op and see the problems people are having with EBT cards, it is pretty obvious that changes are being released into prod to handle this - and the changes are buggy. Kinda like Obamacare.
This could ger REALLY ugly. I’ve said for years that the dependent class will burn down their own neighborhood if they feel empowered by not getting their entitlement. Look what they did after the Rodney King verdict when they felt entitled by an event that did not even directly affect them. If their cards stop working, they will ransack stores for what they are “rightly entitled to” all over the country.
I don’t know how big it will get, but it really could become CWII of a sort and force martial law. And considering the power this would give the president, it might be just what they want. I need my CCW NOW!
So Obama, who alone has the discretion to do so, has decided that food stamps are “non-essential services”?

I’ll bet this dismantling of our Country is going better and faster than the Communist/Socialist/Marxist/Agitator/Racist/Hating America-in-Chief and his cronies could have ever dreamed of.
If we hit the debt ceiling there will not be any jobs to be had. That said we are going to hit it sooner or later so why not now? Bush and Obama made this mess so I'd guess it's our job to clean it up. As long has the lights stay on we can make it thru this.
Actually, you should have been storing up and rotating food for months and years ALREADY. ..
They are hell bent on starting riots and full all out class warfare.
