As we confront yet another weekend of jihadist violence with 81 Christians dead in Pakistan, 142 dead after a jihadist killing spree in Nigeria, and 62 innocents slaughtered in a Kenyan shopping mall we should remember three key (and infuriating) realities:
First, the sustained and deadly jihadist violence that has swept the Muslim world cannot be maintained without broad and deep support from the Muslim population. Tens of thousands of jihadists are recruited, trained, and funded from a much larger network of sympathetic Muslim civilians who share the jihadists goals but not always the same willingness to die. In other words, we are not dealing with some sort of criminal syndicate like a mafia but instead a full-blown religious movement with millions of adherents, millions more sympathizers, and a larger population that will bend towards the strongest force.
Second, these spectacular, large-scale attacks are supplemented by a grinding, low-level grassroots jihad against religious minorities in the Muslim world. Our European Centre for Law and Justice has an affiliated office in Pakistan dedicated to defending Pakistani Christians, and the incidents of spontaneous mob violence, individual retribution, and community-level retaliation against Christians are both regular and terrifying. It is depressingly easy to whip up a Muslim lynch mob on the flimsiest of allegations and rumors. Yet none of these stories make the international press. Its just business as usual in a society increasingly overrun with jihadism.

I thought the problem was Christian extremists!
The islamics need to be gone.
Just let the nukes do the talking.
The jihadists are having their own “surge”. I wonder what Petraeus thinks of it? It’s sort of like the Tet Offensive all over again. Won’t work out well for us — our enemies will be emboldened and will bring the war to our shores.
bump
Religion of peace awards.
Much of this is O’s fault but President Bush is not without fault in this as is the entire government and media on how they report and present this stuff.
but...but...but, moozlums are peeeeceful. This is all lies.
Moderate Islam does not exist. At the very least they are all enablers of terror.
Oh, be afraid! Be very afraid!
Wackobirds - apologize to the NSA! Apologize to McCain and start lobbing missiles somewhere. Anywhere. The third world cave dwellers are coming! Soon we’ll all be speaking Eye-Racky.

Sorry. People took this crap seriously ten years ago and look where we are now. The US government is the threat to you and me.
This is an important point. Even though the jihadis are mostly Sunnis and are killing other Muslims (Shiites and Alawites) as well as kaffirs, they are supported by the majority of Muslims.
They say they are killing on behalf of Islam and because of Islam, and that's exactly what they're doing. Meanwhile, our leaders run out to protect "innocent" Muslims and protest any thought that Islam might be involved.
Until there's some heat on the "innocent" and theoretically non-violent Muslims, there's no reason for them to oppose the jihadis. And probably a lot of those who are not jihadis themselves are scared of the jihadis, and we haven't given them either enough pressure or enough support to stand up or even mildly speak out. Notice the resounding silence from the "Islamic community" on the Kenya attacks.
Life has got to get difficult for Islam in all civilized countries and they have to know they are being watched and will be tolerated only as long as they behave and play by the rules. Instead, you have idiots like Cameron saying that the Kenyan jihadis were really offending Islam because "as we know the religion isn't like that," or some such nonsense. It is like that, and we have to make them deal with it.
Islam’s war against civilization is FAR from over.
Ditto.

George W Bush Islam is Not Terrorism.flv
Shortly after 911, President G. W. Bush explains the differences between Islam and terrorism.
video run length = 00:01:00 minutes
If you cannot identify the enemy then what chance have we?
While most muslims are not terrorists, most terrorists are muslims.
that’s the important part
Islam is not a religion. It is a political movement with the goal of controlling the lives of every human being on earth.
I think they are at war with God and man.
The violence is getting worse. Unfortunately, 3/4 of the American public doesn’t know where Africa or the the middle east are on a map. With their heads firmly lodged in the “out” end of the digestive tract, they are not likely to notice the violence until the only sound they hear is their head dropping on the ground.
“Radical diseases require radical cures.”
Islam is a societal cancer.
Genetically, cancer cells are only slightly different from the cells of the host, but those differences create behaviors that make it impossible to coexist. While not every cancer cell is currently engaged in invading and destroying vital organs, they all can go that route at any time. Therefore the goal of therapy is early detection, and complete eradication of every cell through aggressive therapies.
The same thinking will have to be applied to Islam, I’m afraid. And the same basic treatments: radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery.
Until some kind of vaccination is available, surgery seems to be the only effective solution.
There are thousands of ‘sleeper’ terrorists already here; it’s just a matter of when they get their “go orders”, and begin hitting the abundant “soft targets” here.
Not even to mention the car bombings in Iraq that killed 100 or so.
Oh, the Muslims hate the Kafirs, and the Sunnis hate the Shiites, and everyone hates the Jews...
Genesis 16:10-12 (NIV, © 2011) 10 The angel added, I will increase your (Hagar, slave of Sarah and wife of Abraham) descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count. 11 The angel of the Lord also said to her: You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery. 12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyones hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.
