In a secret meeting on Tuesday morning, Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) hosted a bipartisan group of senators and House members in the Capitols basement. According to several participants, the lawmakers plotted ways to stop the use of U.S. military force in Syria.
Since the diplomatic situation is fluid, there was no final consensus on how best to combat the administration, but potential legislative maneuvers, press appearances, and letters were discussed. Several undecided members asked questions.
Aides say Paul planned the gathering over a week ago, and the list of attendees grew by the day. He is pleased, especially, by the number of Democrats who are eager to work with him to kill the war resolution. Representatives Alan Grayson (D., Fla.) and Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii), among other liberals, spoke.
The meeting, which started at 8:00 a.m., lasted for an hour. It was a conversational setting, with members sitting and talking through the issue, rather than giving speeches. Coffee was provided, but most of the guests brought their own cups.

And the left thinks true conservatives have sold out to crazed globalist bent on destroying freedom. Oh, I don't care what they think, they have no real concept of freedom, unless it's debauchery. "The left" has no interest in preserving traditional American values including military might, economic freedom and a moral society.
Their agenda and their success at destroying those institutions is self-evident.

...that's a motley crew
On the Republican side, senators Dean Heller (Nev.), Mike Lee (Utah), John Boozman (Ark.), and John Barrasso (Wyo.) were there. So was a group of House Republicans, such as Jim Jordan (Ohio), Scott Garrett (N.J.), Walter Jones (N.C.), Justin Amash (Mich.), Tim Huelskamp (Kan.), and Paul Broun (Ga.)
Some of those senators aren't so 'motley' i.e. Mike Lee...

Both party’s machines want the US military to become the
“Saudi Foreign Legion” and fight for Al-Quaeda.
If left leaning liberal members of Congress want to oppose that then they are welcome to come aboard.

How is it secret, if everyone knows about it. Because markomalley just outed the secret with the article he posted.

I think Rand also was a help in stopping the war. Had there been no virulent opposition in Congress, Barry may have not felt the need to march Kerry out with equivocations that trapped him with the Russians.

The neocons are just the old Rockefeller Republicans with a new label. Yup. I agree. I supported our troops in Vietnam and did not want John Kerry to succeed. But if I had been born before we got involved I would not have supported us going there in the first place.
I supported Afghanistan and Iraq. I have since rethought my support for Iraq.
I would have supported war with Iran and North Korea.
I supported arming the Contras.
I did not support Kosovo, Libya nor our involvement in Egypt.
So tell me, Am I anti-War? Or Pro-War?

Y’know if we’re ever going to WIN in the sense of preserving those things about America that we cherish, we’re going to have to get used to making alliances with folks outside our comfort zone.

The best way to publicize something is to call it a SECRET.
I’m sure that the uniparty was well aware of what Sen. Paul was up to.

Y’know what, if the person who casts the deciding vote to end infanticide happens to be a communist wiccan who advocates group lesbianism, I’m not going to care one little bit.

As was I to a certain extent. Everybody who comes to Jesus comes in their own way and in their own time.
