(Newser) – Do you send your kids to private school? Then congratulations: "You are a bad person," Allison Benedikt argues in Slate. "Not bad like murder bad—but bad like ruining-one-of-our-nation’s-most-essential-institutions-in-order-to-get-what’s-best-for-your-kid bad. So pretty bad." Her reasoning is simple: if everyone were invested in public schools—and not just monetarily invested, "but real flesh-and-blood-offspring" invested—they would get better. Involved parents can make a huge difference. Yes, your kid may not get as excellent an education. "Take a deep breath and live with that."
"If you can afford private school," even just barely, "chances are that your spawn will be perfectly fine at a crappy public school." They have support at home, and a family with resources—"the exact kind of family that can help your crappy public school become less crappy." You want a fostering creative environment, small class sizes, individual student attention? So do the poor people down the street. "Send your kids to school with their kids," and then fight to make that school better. Click for Benedikt's full column.
0bama’s kids go to.....
....oh yeah.
Ya just gotta know this is satire. Someone is being facetious here. But it’s a Slate article. Those people actually believe this stuff.
Once all Congressrats send their kids there and their grandkids...
Biggest offenders sending their kids to private school? Union public school teachers. Oops.
I forget..is it Slate or is it Salon... which publishes from a mental institution?
Bah!!!! Humbug.
If the local schools are so friggin bad, I would send my lil’ darlins’ to a better, private school rather than feed them as fodder to a PC slaughterhouse.
No friggin’ way....
Dumbed down Marxists are hopeless.
My kids are just that - my kids. My responsibility. My choices.
Don’t like it? Tough.
And just in case you get any ideas like “you should be forced to XYZ”.
After we take care of those you send to “make us”, we’ll be coming for you.

Public schools were failing to educate my daughter. At the third grade she was making a 30% F for the year. They wanted to just pass her on. That is when I pulled her and her siblings out and sent them to private school for several years.
When she entered high school, I moved her over to a charter school. She graduated HS with a 3.2 overall and finished her last year with a 3.8
Sending my kids to private christian school was the best thing I did for them. Had to sacrifice a lot to do it and could only afford it for a few years. But I do not regret a single dime of it.
The ONLY reason that my other kids are going to public (charter) school instead of private is the tuition hikes became more than I could afford and the charter school as a much better sports / Band / theater program that my kids wanted to attend.
Not.
This is raw liberalism at it's finest... unfortunately.
Trayvon should NOT have broken George Zimmerman’s nose.
Trayvon should NOT have given George Zimmerman two black eyes.
Trayvon should NOT have repeatedly slammed George Zimmerman’s head on the pavement.
Trayvon should NOT have gotten suspended from school for possessing traces of marijuana.
Trayvon should NOT have stolen 12 pcs of ladies jewelry, and a mans watch.
Trayvon should NOT have kept a flat head screwdriver described as a burglary tool, in his backpack.
Trayvon should NOT have had a criminal past of theft, hiding and acting suspicious.
Trayvon should NOT have encouraged ... fellow thugs to commit murder with the tweet, Plzz shoot da #mf dat lied 2 u!.
TRAYVON MARTIN: - Hey, are you following me?
GEORGE ZIMMERMAN: - Ummm, yes.
TRAYVON MARTIN: - May I ask why?
GEORGE ZIMMERMAN: - Well, uh, we've had a number off robberies in this neighborhood lately, and I don't recognize you...
TRAYVON MARTIN: - Oh, well, I'm Travon Martin, I'm spending the summer at my uncle's in unit 12. I expect you'll see a lot of me this summer.
GEORGE ZIMMERMAN: - OK, thanks, good to know. I'm George Zimmerman, by the way.
They shake hands.
TRAYVON MARTIN: - No, thank you for keeping an eye out for your neighbors!
Wow, that’s a rousing endorsement for public schools...
“Send your kids here to help make us less crappy!”
The idea here is that not supporting a failed public school with your kid further injures that school.
One contradiction of such an argument is that public schools get public money based on the number of students. Since some public schools are good schools, then it only stands to reason that depriving a bad school of money is a punishment that they will have to eventually address. That means that depriving them of your involvement and child actually ends up helping them.
Throughout history their defense has always been the same, “Our Socialist programs only fail because the greedy (producers) stopped carrying the less fortunate (Lazy)”.
On occasion they have enough manpower to force labor or education. Then you have the USSR, N. Korea or China.
The rest of the time, you just have failed policies and a bunch of pasty faced, whiners blaming the most productive members of society for the failure of the rest.
Predictable and tiring, these liberals are.
I’d love to put my kids in a public school that adheres to my morals and educational requirements. I can’t find one, and this idiot is the reason why.
Because they are in a perfect position to know just how inferior the public education system is.
