Did the speech police censor the speech before he gave it? As in, did he give them a copy of his US Constitution speech and they nixed it? Has he published his approved and his unapproved speeches anywhere online?

Calling FR a blogand a case can certainly be made that at least part of FR functions as a blogreally brings out serious animosity in some folks. It’s kind of the FR version of PC.

You mean like McRhino obeyed the rules? Or the elite football players obey the rules? Or officers children obey the rules? Or do you mean like the people without influence obey the rules?

‘One could wonder after this indiscretion (there were more efficient ways to achieve his goals) whether the Navy will trust him enough to make him an officer.’
If the Navy doesn’t want this young man, then to hell with the Navy. They’ll do just fine with fags and rejects.

I probably support the young mans views on the Constitution wholeheartedly; however, he was fully aware of the schools rules and decided to shirk them. For his sake, I hope he learns to abide by rules more closely at Annapolis. Wake up. It's time for all good patriots to begin breaking rules that run counter to our guaranteed freedoms and liberties.
The civil order is a mirage. The left is at war with us, and fully intends to eradicate us and our way of life from the face of the earth. Break a few ridiculous rules now, or fight for your very life later. Your choice.

#17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

I wouldnt be so hasty to condemn the school officials since there are too many unknowns and too much speculation about motives. Bless your heart...

Exactly right.
We are closer to Germany circa 1936 than we are to America circa 1957.

...he may pay heavily for this "exercise of a free right". He willfully disregarded the rules for his own aggrandizement, and Annapolis and the Navy are all about rules. I suppose you haven't noticed that every one of our government institutions has turned full blown Commie in the last five years.
What is the point of obeying rules and regulations that strangle and prohibit the foundational freedoms and liberties that our ancestors fought, died, and suffered to win for us?

So why should the speeches of the smartest people in their high school classes need to be reviewed and pro-approved?
Would you be so supportive if the valdictorian's speech was pro-homosexuality and called for support of same sex marriages?

Would you be so supportive if the valdictorian's speech was pro-homosexuality and called for support of same sex marriages? I would, even though I strongly disagree. I believe in a free exchange of ideas. Ideas either stand or fall on their own merit in such an environment.
That is what freedom is about. Censorship is a tool of totalitarian states.

The schools microphone, the schools forum, the schools approval. Wrong. We the taxpaying public pay for all of that, and it's there to serve our interests, not some cabal of Commie bureaucrats.
This is exactly what's wrong with the people's relationship with their government. We've become their servants, and they, our masters.
Wrong, wrong, wrong!

“The person who silenced the mic. should be fired. I do not care what the rules are. If we lack the courage to break stupid rules like these, it will be absolutely be the end of this country. We will get what we deserve and our children will spit on our grave for it.”
But what if this was some kid that got up to proclaim their support for gay marriage and how proud they are to be bisexual?
