Tornado warnings up in Oklahoma. Watches in TX, OK, KS, MO, far NW Arkansas.
Storm related fatality in Springdale, AR.
Debris hit a vehicle, killing a 19 year old male.
There was one who died in Texas last week whose body was on the street and the intestines were strung out on the street. I think I have that right. Nothing could have saved that person.
Well, that does happen sometimes. They will likely be reprimanded if they do. They have to remember that they can’t help anyone if they fall victim to falling debris too.
Heh....now that's original. I'll make sure to find out what the proper protocol is before approaching La Casa JRandom :-)
The NC Baptist Men have offered assistance, and have responders on alert and ready to go to Oklahoma.
That’s very true. Sadly from the pancake description, That’s probably going to be true of the children buried under this rubble.
Ok the wind started picking up here, and now we have rain, thunder and lightning, so it’s our turn for what remains. I am going to shut down in a minute and head for the basement bedroom for tonight.
OOPs. Just lost the satellite feed. If the lightning gets to close I’ll be unplugging the computer. In case I don’t post any more tonight.
Looking at that little boy pulled from the rubble, it’s amazing any of those kids survived.
I feel bad for the folks likely buried (to some degree) in their houses..thankfully there does not appear to be very many fires.
Stay safe, don’t want to lose you.
Couple of unusual tornado videos....both audio and video.
Here’s a too close for comfort video...in the debrie field with it coming directly toward the guy... Moore OK.... Visual and audio...
Debris from Moore Ok Tornado fell in Branson, MO. 250 miles
5 minutes of footage into a minute,....watch it spin back up at the end as well...creepy!
showing the mile-wide tornado roaring through the suburb.
ROTFLMAO
Ditto that.LOL
I have a pretty safe bed room located near the back of the basement. It has a loft next to it that the kids use to play on, but can also sleep on.
If we have a little warning, we can all scramble under the loft. Inside basement area with double walls and very sturdy loft to catch falling debris. We keep an axe and a sledge hammer there too. Just in case we have to hack our way out.
Tornadoes are not to be messed with. With all the EF5s we may have to look into hardening things even more.
Awesome, I raise my glass to you!
My gggg uncle was Erastus “Deaf” Smith.
Also related to Thomas Miller, Alamo defender, Gonzales, TX. He was one of the 31 that rode in as reinforcements.
Good chance of rain there tonight and tomorrow morning. Apparently a northern cold front has setup and the warm humid air from the south is rising and then rain falls. From KFOR.
They might need sump pumps and generators.
Debris from Moore Ok Tornado fell in Branson MO. 250 miles away.
The time compressed video appears to be at the tail end of the tornado. Notice how it appears to be pulsating just before it shrinks into a rope and vanishes.
....”The water level where I am is too high for a basement. Even a storm shelter would be a close call before hitting water”....
I understand the ground in the Moore area doesn’t make underground a good idea.
I had a home that sat on the water table.....we concreted the entire basement a second level up with a sump pump.....but when a hurrican hit it crept over that second level even with the sump pump in operation.
I think that’s the photo of the shelter the owner spoke of on the news, saying.... it took four men on the inside to hold that door from being ripped off.....and the outside handle was all mangled from the tornado ripping at it.
