Brit Hume: "The Country May Now Indeed Be Ready For Another Bush" (VIDEO)
RCP ^ | April 28th, 2013 | Staff

BRIT HUME: This is absolutely what I would have expected from Barbara Bush. She suffered terribly when the slings and arrows were being aimed first at her husband, then at her son, and then to whatever extent it was to her other son who was -- and I think she's fed up and had long had enough of her men being on the firing line. But I think in terms of the public's estimation, that cycles are accelerated these days, and the country may now indeed be ready for another Bush. And if you think about Jeb Bush, he doesn't particularly look like either of his -- either his father or his brother. He's a different breed of cat outwardly at least. He has some of the same qualities, traditional views and gentlemanliness and so on. I think if he decides that he wants to run, he will be a formidable candidate.

The Bush Library opening the other day was like a Hollywood premier. Choreographed perfectly. All it needed was the searchlights criss-crossing the sky at night.

Fine and dandy.

But the hype is still continuing with GW in person or specials on him all over the tube day and night .....and it shows no sign of abating.

I don't think it's because the media has "rediscovered" W, or they're really interested in him or his new pile of bricks and books in Texas.

Nope, George is sprinkling the personality and the rose petals around, intent on rehabilitating the Bush name, providing leadership for RINOS in search of a hero for the next presidential election.....and paving the yellow brick road for brother Jeb for El Supremo of the U.S. of A.

You can make book on this is what's going on right now.

Hume is playing his role perfectly.....and the rest of the media will now be tagging along for the show.

I already had planned on not voting GOP again.

That will make it really easy.

I posted on Rand Paul’s Facebook page today that he better just come out and say he was wrong about using drones for law enforcement and get his head straight on immigration or we will all be stuck with Jeb Bush in 2016.

Jeb Bush will just have trouble with two groups of voters:

1. Republicans
2. Democrats

Apart from that, he would be a formidable candidate.

I just don’t even believe this sh*t. Who, in their right mind, wants another Bush? Bush I gave us Clinton. That was bad enough. But, really? What would Bush III give us, Hume? You want more Emperor Barqui Obinga?

No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.

Despite his weight, Jeb Bush is just a political light-weight and not a very strong-willed person at that.

Well, Reagan was a solid moderate. I wouldn’t include him. Other than Reagan, neither party has run a conservative in the general election since the progressives took over in the second half of the nineteenth century.

Actually, I was addressing the Democrat party with that response. I think Reagan was considerably more Conservative that people give him credit for. There’s only so much you can do when you hold power. I think he did what he could.

We don’t own the Democrat party. We barely own any of the Republican party. Even in Reagan’s day, he had to cajole both groups to get anything done.

He doubled the government take by sparking a tremendous surge in the economy. That would have been great if the Congress hadn’t tripled spending.

He rebuilt our military only to have it hacked on again.

The most remarkable thing about Reagan’s terms in office to me, was how soon people forgot and how soon his good deeds were destroyed.
