Brit Hume: "The Country May Now Indeed Be Ready For Another Bush" (VIDEO)

BRIT HUME: This is absolutely what I would have expected from Barbara Bush. She suffered terribly when the slings and arrows were being aimed first at her husband, then at her son, and then to whatever extent it was to her other son who was -- and I think she's fed up and had long had enough of her men being on the firing line. But I think in terms of the public's estimation, that cycles are accelerated these days, and the country may now indeed be ready for another Bush. And if you think about Jeb Bush, he doesn't particularly look like either of his -- either his father or his brother. He's a different breed of cat outwardly at least. He has some of the same qualities, traditional views and gentlemanliness and so on. I think if he decides that he wants to run, he will be a formidable candidate.

I used to like Brit Hume.

No.

Bush fatigue still remains.

If it didn’t Obama could not have blamed Bush and ran successfully against him in 2012 and 2008.

The Bush name on the ballot would be toxic. He would lose, especially if the Dems find another charmer type candidate.

I doubt Hillary will run; she will have aged another 4 years by 2016.

Also note that the two most recent Dem wins have been with youngish charmers, and their losses were with the Old Guard politician types. Too bad the GOP doesn’t understand that instead of running their Old Guard politicians.

The repeated references to 2016 are getting tiresome. The dems could run Barney Frank as their nominee and win. Really do need to concentrate on governorships and Congressional races.
