RALEIGH, N.C. At least two people were injured Saturday afternoon in an apparent accidental shooting at the gun show being held at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m., and two people were loaded into ambulances.
A witness told WRAL that a gun went off after being checked by an official at a safety check-in location, hitting a man in the hand and a woman in the side.
The Raleigh Fire Department confirmed that the Dixie Gun and Knife Show would be closed for the remainder of the day Saturday. There was no word on whether the show, which is held inside the Jim Graham Building, would continue Sunday.

A few years ago here a cop was sitting in a chair watching the door at a gun show when his own pistol “accidentally went off”. Shot himself in the ass.
Oh, I agree totally...that’s why I’m in the disbelief column I think on whether this was a confluence of events or a conspiracy of events.

It’s the power of Satan which lives in Obozo. Oh how I wish someone would take pictures of his Satanic worship chamber and sacrifiial altar and put it in the news...: )
Ol' Barn did get that job in Raleigh after he left the force in Mayberry. Hmmm...
Kinda reminds of the cop who shot himself in the leg in front of a classroom full of children!

More people will hurt themselves falling in the bathtub today. Ninety people will die in car accidents.
We had a county deputy fired yesterday for putting his shotgun on top of his cop car and driving off. They haven’t recovered it yet even though they’ve retraced his route.
Was that cop a Democrat?

Democrat Joe Morissey rose to his feet in the Virginia House of Delegates to protest the tabling by that body’s Militia and Police subcommittee of his Obama-like gun-control measure. To emphasize his point, he hoisted an AK-47, single-handed, over his head, pointing the weapon’s muzzle at the ceiling - like a celebratory Taliban fighter at a traditional Afghan wedding. “... You can take this gun,” said Morrissey, “you can walk in the middle of Main Street loaded and not be in violation of the law.”
In response, Republican Delegate Todd Gilbert quickly rose to his feet and made a parliamentary point of order. He demanded that Morissey, obviously unfamiliar with handling weapons, remove his thumb from the rifle’s trigger.

I thought the same thing. Why would anyone load a gun at a gun show?
I agree...
Response: Oh Lord!
Heck...I don’t know...it just seems like a rather near-impossible coincidence of mating a dumb ass cop with a dumb ass gun show attendee is all I’m saying.
Not really. I've been shooting for thirty years and never once been to a gun show.
If this person had their CCW and was a first timer, how would he know to unload before getting to the gate?
How do you screen the lefties out of the gun shows unless you're some sort of mutant psychic?
They have signs posted everywhere. Outside before you get to the door. Every gun show I've been to has been this way over thirty years. But especially now.
Screw the fire department and tell them to try and stop the show. All hell would break loose. Government must be crazy to use an accident to cause cancellation. Damn fools. We are too easy on all forms of government control since they are the insane walking on my turf.
I say take all the cops back to .38 revolvers, like in the good old days.
Oops, that might involve them sitting at the cop shop until they're asked to show up and 3 of them sharing the same marked cop car over 3 ea. 8-hour shifts. Can't have that!
I’m not so sure about the gun show attendee being a dumb ass.
A CCW holder should automatically assume he can carry in any venue not specifically prohibited by law. I am aware of no obligation to make an exhaustive search for “no loaded weapons allowed” posts, and so they should be prominently displayed if the organizers expect them to be respected.
I have seen MANY prohibition posting that were NOT prominently displayed.
That a cop decided to unsafely dick around with a loaded weapon, once discovered, has very little to do with the owner who surrendered it upon request, in my opinion.
Were you at that specific gun show?
Have you been attending shows in that area for all those years?
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I am inclined to give the benefit of any doubt to the owner of the weapon, and not to the cop who wounded innocent bystanders with it.
