I have confirmed with a group of Congressmen that House Speaker John Boehner will not be reelected Speaker tomorrow.
He will either resign or be forced out tomorrow.
Only 17 members are needed to block Speaker Boehner's election tomorrow. A Speaker needs an absolute majority of all votes cast for a specific person.
If no one has a majority, the House is speakerless. I've confirmed these rules with the House Parliamentarian.
Cantor is just Boehner without the tan and the weeping. If he was any different, he would have stood out the last couple of years. The GOP-e has selected the preferred replacement and is now trying to market him.
Newt is a BIG GOVERNMENT PROGRESSIVE.
NO more RINOS |
walter williams for speaker. thomas sowell would be good, too.
Gotta love his Presidential election strategy of 2012. It effectively kept Rick Santorum from winning the nomination, handing it to Mittens. How did that turn out for you? Say what you want about Rick, but at least he was able to connect with the voters. And that is a quality that no Republican has shown for quite some time.
There you go. Caught you in a lie. Rick Santorum.
What a waste of my time. Talking out of both ends. Adios.
Alan West for Speaker!!!!!!
“Heard the same earlier today on Hannity.”
Hannity also predicted a landslide victory for Romney.
Apparently bears repeating, huh?
Don’t get your hopes up. The gutless GOP wienies will do as their told and reelect Boehner.
Serving his fourth term in the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Louie Gohmert was first sworn in January 4, 2005. He proudly represents the First District of Texas which encompasses over 12 counties stretching nearly 120 miles down the state's eastern border.
During these trying economic times, Rep. Gohmert is developing innovative solutions to jumpstart our economy and offering practical alternatives to the government's bailout frenzy. His Federal Income Tax Holiday gained widespread national support from the grassroots level to national leaders, allowing taxpayers to decide how best to spend their hard-earned money. Louie has repeatedly called for an end to the socialization of our economy and decried the notion that Washington Bureaucrats know better than American taxpayers.
Louie serves on numerous House committees and subcommittees. He was recently named Vice Chair of the Judiciary subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security due to his extensive knowledge stemming from years in the court room.
Prior to being elected to serve in Congress, Louie was elected to three terms as District Judge in Smith County, Texas. During his tenure on the bench, he gained national and international attention for some of his innovative rulings. He was later appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to complete a term as Chief Justice of the 12th Court of Appeals.
Louie received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and later graduated from Baylor School of Law. He is also a veteran having served his country as Captain in the U.S. Army.
Today, he and his wife Kathy are the proud parents of three daughters. Their family attends Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, where Louie has served as a deacon and still teaches Sunday school.
He's a Christian, a true Conservative a Texan, served in the military and a good family man. And he speaks his mind without fear. In my estimation, Louis Gohmert is the clear choice for this position.
Just yanking the proper chains.
I'm not sure of anyone outside of Laz I'd heartily endorse for Speaker at the moment.
Cheers!
Register independent. Your occasional primary victories in states with closed primaries arent helping either, dont let those stop you.
Do this one tiny protest. You can still vote for any Republican you find worthy of your support in general elections.
The old ways are gone. You must scare the party by defecting until it changes direction.
Besides, youll really help screw the polling up.
Agree, yet remaining registered pub, at least in my state, allows me to vote in the primary for the T.E.A. party candidate to succeed over the entrenched GOPe incumbant. You can only vote for your registered party's nominees here. No cross dressing in these parts, stranger.
We now have Mike Lee (check his record) and Jason Chaffetz (check his record) and though time is short, in my state, indy doesn't seem as likely to buy so much. In states more bluish, you're likely correct.
Hell, even our only democrat, Matheson, (sadly, my rep) voted against this latest abortion.
What’s the constitution have to do with anything anymore? (Sarcasm).
I said “probably”, what word would you use?
I like that!
What if we got REALLY lucky and had a MEMBERLESS Congress?
WTF are you talking about?
Newt gave us a majority for the first time in 60 years which led to The Contract with America, which led The Balanced Budget Act, Which led to Welfare Reform, Which was capped off with a Reduction in Capital Gains Tax, which resulted in buckets of Capital infused into the economy and led to more people working at higher wages than ever before.
The only thing Newt did was let Clintontake credit because it didn’t really matter to him if Clinton wanted to co-opt his key legislation.
Only thing that was important is what was right for the country and if that meant Clinton could feel good about himself, however synthetic, then he could take credit all day long and we got more done as a result.
