President Barack Obama has cancelled his rally that was scheduled for Tuesday morning in Colorado Springs to monitor Hurricane Sandy, according to a White House press release.
Obama will return to Washington to continue to monitor the hurricane following a campaign event in Ohio on Monday. A campaign event that was scheduled in Northern Virginia on Monday was also cancelled because of the storm.
According to a statement made by the White House Saturday night, The President is being regularly updated on the storm and ongoing preparations, and he has directed his team to continue to bring all available resources to bear as state and local partners continue to prepare for the storm.
The press release said that FEMA has deployed teams and has pre-staged resources to potentially affected areas of the storm.
The rally that was scheduled in Colorado Springs Red Rock Canyon Open Space park on Tuesday was meant to focus on issues such as the economy and early voting, according to a campaign spokesperson.
The 101st Airborne did not need rescuing.
I'm not a huge fan of Chris Christie, but in his first 3-4 months in office back in 2010 he accomplished something that I never thought would have been possible: He effectively reduced New Jersey public school teachers to a level of (dis)respect usually reserved for lawyers, arsonists and child molesters. I think every employed person in the U.S. who worries about his/her future is going to be hard-pressed to justify a vote for Barack Obama.
Drudge has pulled all the Benghazi headlines...
Leni
Very well put.
But he decided to go to Boulder on Thursday. He knows be can get a big crowd there.

Good! We don’t need our roadways and airspaces blocked off because of that coward!
Leni, You get the prize for figuring it out. What is the prize....why an all expenses paid trip to your nearest polling center to vote the bum out of course.
Monitor the hurricane and p*ss on the Americans in Benghazi!
What an a**hole!
love the pic.
The one thing he can’t do anything about is a hurricane. And that he could monitor from the Internet!
Is that were Romney & Ryan packed the amphitheater?
Nope, Red Rocks Ampitheatre is 90 miles north, in Denver county
Because during his famous speech, Teh One had declared, "This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began to heal."
This is one Messiah who can't calm the storm!
Let's seem him stand in New York Harbor and command the waves to recede, like King Canute.
(Did I say Canute? More like Aethelred Axelrod the Unready! ...and yes, I do know the etymological provenance of the name and title.)
Cheers!
The SEIU buses from Pennsylvania and New York were going to be half full and wouldn’t make it in time.
I hear his Las Vegas makeup person kept him up to date...
Thinking along the same lines.....Hoe someone is keeping an eye on all of them!
Leni, did you see Pat Caudill (D) on Judge J (fox) last night. Have never seen ANYONE on TV as upset as he appeared.
But potential hurricane victims can take comfort in the fact that, unlike in Benghazi, it’s politically expedient for Obama to “have their back”.
