Madison - Gov. Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett are locked in a dead-even race for governor, according to a poll released Wednesday by Marquette University Law School.
The poll also showed Barrett leading his Democratic rivals in Tuesday's primary. The primary winner will face the Republican governor in the June 5 recall election.

Oh, in case some don’t remember, Walker WON by 7 points.
It does seem that polling companies almost invariably either (a) put the Democrat ahead of the Republican, or (b) declare the race to be a dead heat.
If the polling results were reliable indicators of election outcomes, Democrats would outnumber Republicans in elected positions by about 9 to 1.
I don’t know why this is, other than wishful thinking on the part of the pollsters.
To maintain their credibility, the true poll numbers come out closer to the election, a week or so before. We’re splitting atoms. 9% oversampling is spin, hype and designed to dispirit conservative turnout. Ignore the polls, they don’t mean crap. They create ‘news’.
It’s not wishful thinking. The polls are designed either to support a dead heat narrative, or agitprop to dishearten the Republicans and make the Dim’s candidate look like a winner. People tend to back the winners.
It’s funny how in 24 hrs the election is ‘suddenly over’. Our side really needs to get a back bone. Your example is well taken. I’ll add, EVERY SINGLE election with a ‘surprise’ outcome, whether it’s candidates or issues, ALWAYS ends up advantage republican or conservative. You never hear about a surprise Dem win...unless there’s a strong third party candidate in the mix.
I have NO doubt that when dawn breaks the morning after the election, Tingles Matthews will be swinging from a rope and the mainstream media is going to be scratching their collective heads trying to figure out how Romney could have possibly rolled over Obama like this. Mark my words.
want to add one other thing.
The news narrative today is the conservatives and republicans are disheartened.
Ummmm Folks....that’s EXACTLY what the plan is. Our side is dancing right into the trap.
Thanks PJ-Comix.
I agree, this is all about Obama getting ZERO bounce from his Convention. This is all orchestrated by the Dems(Who have already sued Gallop for releasing a poll favoring Romney) the Dems dont have the enthusiasm that the Republicans have so they are trying to level the playing field. They are hoping that just like in 2008, many Republicans will just stay home because they think the election is over. The election is NOT over, just you watch. By the end of October these same pollsters will start releasing polls showing Romney with a 5 point lead, just so that these pollsters can save face and not look like complete morons
Remember that when you hear the next BS poll or attempt by the MSM to smear Romney or tell us Obama is way ahead.
And what was it - three days ago? that someone posted a thread here on FR saying that Romney was abandoning Wisconsin because he couldn’t win...
It has to ne remembered that the left wins by subverting and infiltrating organizations. They have done this with reporting, colleges, the government bureaucracies, etc. So why should polling organizations not fall i.to this pattern?
Also wanted to add another thing, you know is really a shame..I have seen poll after poll showing that the majority of Americans distrust the media, think the media are nothing but Obama kiss assers, think that the media are ALL in the tank for Obama..dont believe a word that comes out of their filthy traps..yet when these polls come out from CNN and others what do people do, believe every single word of it..when it all comes down to it even when people say they dont believe the media they still believe the damn talking screen
Is there someplace to find those transcripts?
Thanks for posting this. My thoughts exactly, remember the recall election? They were shocked that they lost. They thought all along they we going to win. This election is far from over.
Does anybody think the 2004 exit polls showing a Kerry landslide were a mistake? They were released for ONE reason: to discourage people from voting for Bush since they wanted to project it as a hopeless cause. Ditto 2000 when Dan Rather “accidentally” claimed Gore won Florida before the conservative Panhandle polls in the Central Time Zone were closed.
Thistle Peterssen is still in a state of shock.
But, but, the nation is different than it was....3 months ago!!!

Just a note on that election. It was a special statewide recall election, so the pollsters really had a devil of a time predicting turnout.
The most motivated voters were the anti-Walker people. However, plenty of pro-Walker people were more than motivated enough to vote, and there obviously were more of them.
OTOH, the press releases and ads from both sides made it clear to those who were paying attention that the internal polls on both sides favored Walker.

Vice President Joe Biden and Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan plan campaign stops in Wisconsin this week, another sign of the increasing importance being placed on the state and its 10 electoral votes.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Sunday began running his first ads in the state, a move designed to either help win Wisconsin or force President Barack Obama to spend more time and money there.
