After Manzano finished his race and secured his medal, he did what athletes typically do at the Olympics. He held up his country's flag -- the Stars and Stripes.
The 27-year-old was born in Mexico, but the United States is his country now. His father migrated here illegally from the city of Dolores Hidalgo. Manzano was brought here when he was 4. Like most immigrants, they came in search of greater opportunity. And they found it -- for themselves, and their children.
You can't help but be proud of Manzano and the country that allowed him the opportunity to fulfill his potential.
So why did Manzano carry two flags with him on his victory lap? As the world looked on, he held up both the U.S. flag and the Mexican flag. Not a good look. And not a good idea.

Send him back to Mexico with a bill for all the opportunity and training he received while in the USA.

Kind of represents the times we live in, people don’t know if they are MALE/FEMALE..or whether they are American or Mexican, and many oppose greed, but want all of the money that the rich will give them. I know people who aren’t sure about their political party, the box to check for the census, and some don’t know if they are married, living together, or single.

He's here illegally - send him home.

not the first time....if you go back and look at videos of Marion Jones, the cheater who had her Olympic medals stripped because of doping, she would carry an American flag and flag of the Bahamas when she did her victory laps...

To me it is as simple as complete disrespect for the country that took his skinny A$$ in and that made it possible for him to participate in the olympics.

I can. I wish the jerk had lost.
Knowing how to be a winner is a critical part of winning: he knew how to get his medal but not how to wear it.

The Illegal Alien is using the American Flag as a piece of clothing which is against the US Flag Code!
He must be deported or even sent to prison.
This is an outrage!

Sorry I rooted for him to win a medal. Never again. Ingrate!

Blind ardilla Ruben finally finds an acorn.
Revoke his medal and ship “citizen” Manzano back to Mexico.
We have enough `hyphenated Americans’ as it is.

You’re joking, right, about deporting him for putting the flag over his shoulders?
Medalists and spectators have been draping American flags over themselves daily. A day or two ago, I saw an athlete’s mother with the American flag over her shoulders like a shawl. You may not like flags being used like that, but the horse left the barn a long time ago on this one.
No one is doing it to disrespect the flag. In their own way, they are wearing it proudly. They are just clueless about the fact that traditional flag etiquette does not permit this.

(As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.)
You can't help but be proud of Manzano and the country that allowed him the opportunity to fulfill his potential. CNN
You can't help but be proud of the country that allowed:
His dad to come here and stay here against the laws of our nation
His dad to work under the table to gain income that was shielded from the IRS
His dad to tap government services for himself and his family based at least in part by the lack of reported income
His dad and family to contribute to a massive burden on the health care systems in the United States
Manzano to attend school for free, with tens of millions of other illegal alien children
Manzano to contribute to a massive burden on local education systems
The children of illegal immigrants to flood schools to the point that the construction project in the United States second only to the "Big Dig", was the building of new schools to handle their massive numbers in Los Angeles.
This family to contribute to an overall problem of massive crime perpetrated against U. S. Citizens
For every illegal alien family that comes here, there is an invisible quotient that goes unaddressed, and that's the sad fact that it quasi-legitmizes all illegals who come
here, and commit high crimes against U. S. Citizens.
What this kid's dad, he, and his family participated in, was not something to be proud of.
It was wrong on many levels CNN. Too bad you and the rest of the DNCp are so anti-American. In this instance, you're actually pro Mexican over the loyal citizens of your own nation. And you wonder why you are relegated to the ash bin of history, barely able to keep your disgusting anti-American views on the air.

“Medalists and spectators have been draping American flags over themselves daily. A day or two ago, I saw an athletes mother with the American flag over her shoulders like a shawl.”
And people have been breaking laws ever since there were laws and not everyone who breaks a law is arrested and sent to prison.
However, some people that break laws are arrested and charged with their crime and simply because the police did not arrest the mother wearing the flag as a shawl, does not mean that this running illegal Alien should not be arrested.

Wanna bet?
He's here illegally - send him home. According to the story, he became a US citizen. So regardless of how he got here, he is not here illegally at this point.

Thank G-d that Saudi woman Sarah Attar didn’t win anything in the 800m, she has Saudi-USA dual citizenship. Wonder what flag she would have carried?
