President Obamas spokesman blamed Congress for the lack of stronger gun control legislation and promised that the Justice Department would improve background checks to enhance security.
The presidents approach is that we should work with Congress when possible and administratively when allowed, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters when asked about strengthening gun control laws laws that must respect Second Amendment rights, he said.

>>Different! Do they put a cork on your fork for your own safety?
Thank you for saving me the trouble of responding to that stupid post.
Please don’t allow let facts to get in the way.
Harmless???
I guess you really do not need hi-cap mags or folding/collapsible stocks.
I keep hearing all these “It wasn’t my fault” excuses for the socialistic crap willard signed into law in Mass.
People are speculating on what obama MIGHT do, how about look at what mittens has already done. The best predictor of future actions is past performance.
As noted above, congress is now restraining obama, won’t happen with romney.
“And there are people here who want Eric Holder to stick around for another four years.”
Please say that isn’t so.
What a #ing joke.
Did Team F&F run background checks against the scumbags responsible for the murder of Brian Terry?
Push back against the tyranny!!!
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if there’s more of a background check on a citizen wanting to buy a gun, than a person from a terrorist nation that wants to relocate here.
But! He’s not restrained. He just uses an executive order for anything congress doesn’t agree on.
Romney isn’t stupid. If he wins, he’ll want the base’s support in getting things done, and in getting reelected.
I don’t think we’d have much to worry about on the Second Amendment until a second Romney term. This includes the Sup Court; if Romney were to get an opening in his first term, I don’t think he could afford to pick anyone other than a known, solid conservative. Whether such a nominee could get confirmed if the GOP doesn’t take back the Senate is a related, but separate question.
Licensed concealed carry holders bypass the background check. FYI
So 0kaka is the King and Holder is his second in command or whatever.
This is so revolting but are any Rs going to fight for the American peoples’ rights?
“Bill Clinton tried to force regulation, too:
“I’ve come to believe he needs a certain level of violence in this country,” Wayne LaPierre, the NRA’s executive vice president, said on ABC-TV’s This Week. “He’s willing to accept a certain level of killing to further his political agenda, and the vice president, too.””
I’ll NEVER forget that. I was watching and recording it. It was during the 2000 campaign. Cookie literally stuttered trying to respond to it. It was a DIRECT FRONTAL ASSAULT on the grabbers - they NEVER saw it coming. He went on back up his words. Prior to saying that, it looked like gun control was making a comeback.
It was at that moment that the gun control debate ended at the national level. We could have 10 more of these killings and it won’t matter. It’s over.
Go for it Holder.... there are ways around background checks. It just makes people use those ways.
Mind boggling, isn’t it? I feel like FR is now DU. Weird! I miss it, but I just can’t hang around here much anymore.
When does the President get his background check?
Shhhh, don’t confuse them with facts. ROMNEY IS BAD, OBAMA IS NOT AS BAD AS ROMNEY! That’s all you need to say, over and over and over and over again.
Indeed we do.
