Romney isn’t stupid. If he wins, he’ll want the base’s support in getting things done, and in getting reelected.
I don’t think we’d have much to worry about on the Second Amendment until a second Romney term. This includes the Sup Court; if Romney were to get an opening in his first term, I don’t think he could afford to pick anyone other than a known, solid conservative. Whether such a nominee could get confirmed if the GOP doesn’t take back the Senate is a related, but separate question.
No second term for Romney. We must find some gutsy, constitutional candidate to primary against him in 2016. After seeing Issa, Walker, Rubio and Ryan in action, we may have some possibilities.
