Absolutely. A Wolf walked into a room from of Sheep, just like the Nazis walked into the Jewish Ghetto. Extreme statement, I think not. I was just talking to my Brother who lives in Colorado. He carries a .45 in his waistband holster and a 9MM in his ankle holster. Living in CA, I envy the Constitution he gets to live by.
He isn't into “Gun Free Zones”, if you know what I mean. He follows the philosophy that “I would rather be judged by twelve than carried by six”.
How amazing it is that people so easily surrender their personal safety and God Given Constitutional Rights to appease the Useful Idiot Citizenry who support Liberal Politicians and their agenda. Only Fairies and Unicorns exist in a Criminal free Utopia.
We were discussing the “ballistic” clothing the Perp was wearing. I think the Rats are trying to outlaw that too.
Even if a round would not penetrate the clothing, that skinny little Perp would have been knocked off his feet while peeing his pants had anyone even winged him.
Just ranting. I hate Democrat, Liberals and everything they stand for. I'll blame my Brother for getting me all fired up. LOL

You know, I hear tell that on the world market, AKs can be had for $10 each. Is this true?

Jeez....right about now I wish I owned an online ammo site like Cheaper than Dirt. I'd make a fortune!!!I went to the gun show today, here in Miami. HUGE show and packed tighter than any I've seen in recent memory. Sales looked brisk. Ammo was a decent price too. Especially the 45 and 9mm that I saw. I wasn't in the market for that having made a bulk buy of shooting ammo a few weeks ago. But I did pick up some 45 Colt, 454 Casull and 460 magnum for my XVR 460. Those prices were excellent. Even better than online and I didn't need to pay shipping or wait for delivery. It's nice to have a heavy caliber revolver that fires three distinctly different calibers. That's what I call DIVERSITY!

So the next nut case will have bought all the ammo locally. How many lives would that have saved?

The hype about him buying 6000 rounds is just that, hype, plus it was legal and those rounds could have been bought at a retail outlet or at a gun show. Duh, that's why we need to limit sales of ammo *everywhere* (step 2 of the game plan)

First off, these assholes never give up. Lautenberg, surprised that walking mummy is still walking. MCCarthy, another joke.
I guess I see now why the NRA supported Reid in the election.

Pump shotguns like the 870 he used generally take at least 5 shells in the magazine. Many take 8.

F ing a$$hats. Yes he bought 6 k rounds, but was he carrying 6 k rounds? Did he shoot 6k rounds? Don't try to use logic. They are Democrats, the antithesis of anything logical.

Yep, or make it illegal to fly planes into buildings.
Or, how about make it illegal to use box cutters as weapons?

We need to start today on efforts to prevent the next attack, he said in a statement. We should begin by passing my legislation to ban the sale of high-capacity gun magazines. No sportsman needs 100 rounds to shoot a duck, but allowing high-capacity magazines in the hands of killers like James Holmes and Jared Loughner puts law enforcement at a disadvantage and innocent lives at risk.
Come on, now. Do you even use a rifle to shoot ducks? Most of the duck hunters I know use shotguns.
I suppose there might be somebody out there bagging waterfowl with a rifle, but I honestly think they'd be an exception, not the rule.

Thank you. I have been saying this for many years now. The North Hollywood shootout involved drum magazines as well - cheap, unreliable magazines that are prone to jam. If this shooter had been using standard 30 round magazines, the damage would’ve been much worse. 100 round magazines (and even 50 round magazines) are novelty items and nothing more. The military doesn’t use them because they are garbage.
In this case, high-capacity magazines saved lives.

A bit hard to fathom that folks don’t already have thousands in each caliber they need, and a few thousand in other calibers for barter.

Typical “don't let a (manufactured) crises go to waste” legislation. Why target a small group of criminals when an entire nation can have it's natural right to self-defense against tyrants infringed.

I bet they both used the Interstate Highway System in some way connected with their crimes, too! And the Internet!
Idiots like these Congresscritters and this reporter need to buy a clue.
