**Exclusive**
Late Thursday evening, Mitt Romney's presidential campaign launched a new fundraising drive, 'Meet The VP' -- just as Romney himself has narrowed the field of candidates to a handful, sources reveal.
And a surprise name is now near the top of the list: Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice!
The timing of the announcement is now set for 'coming weeks'.

It was Condi who received two standing ovations at Romney's Utah retreat a few weeks ago, and everyone left with her name on their lips.
Rice made an extended argument for American leadership in the world.

A few corrections, and your post is now 100% correct.
Continuously, lowering the bar of expectations on what to expect from all of our politicians only helps them to continue to get, even, worse.
LOL I thought she made a nice LOOKING Secretary of State anyway.
Hooray for noticing that.
Duh.
Rush played a clip of Condi responding to the Pro-life issue posed by Katie Couric. The answer was nearly as clear as mud. Condi claimed she was Pro-Life but would not want Roe v. Wade overturned because she respected the right to choose and didn’t want government to eliminate the ability to choose.
I equated her answer with the contention, “I would never have an abortion, but I wouldn’t want to keep anyone else from being able to make that choice.”
Abortion is infanticide, not a choice, so based on her response during that interview, unless she has experienced an epiphany on the issue recently, she appears to be riding the fence, in my opinion.
EODGUY
A (very) important consideration, I believe.
Amen! Well said.
you are kidding right, Bush policy back on the table, another RINO, no frigging thank you, FFS Romney the establishment are surely trying as hard as they can to piss over conservatives
I think Drudge is putting her ut due the fact she is pro queer, pro killing babies and there is nothing better for the fake republicans, RINO’s than to see Condi on the ticket as it would exclude conservatives even more.
I think this is all BS and what DRUDGE WANTS LIKE HE WANTED HIS PRO TURD POKING ROMNEY.
to read what a couple have wrote sickens me, she is pro queer agenda, pro killing babies, anti Israel and another Bush side kick, NO FRIGGING WAY.
Some of these comments goes to show that this conservative site has been a place for those who seem lost and like to call themsrlves conservative, even a couple saying that they are anti abortion but ah well so what bla bla /
This is Drudge who wants his perfect RINO ticket and a couple on here are going with it.
I’M FUC%%% DONE if this was true but alas I htink this is Drudge wanting his RINO ticket, pro queer, pro abortion, anti Israel, and now many say she voted for obama, mmmmmmmm
Never been a fan of lil miss “embolden”, especially after she said that now one would have thought that someone would fly planes into buildings.
Noooooooooo! We need West!
Someone who has walked the walk and can sell the talk.
Really? So you think that people that are for Romney now to keep Obama out would turn against him because of the VP choice of Condi Rice?
Difference of opinion, but I just dont see it. If you are ABO then thats just the point. ABO. I dont see someone who says I’m voting for Romney to keep Obama out of office would look at the situation and say “Ok, I was OK with just Romney, but now with Condi then I’m out, even at risk of Obama”. If your reasoning is the pro-choice stance, then I’d counter that people that have abortion as their primary issue probably weren’t in the ABO camp to begin with, but are more in the I wont vote for Romney anyway camp, as his abortion record is not great. Again, there may be exceptions, but by in large, I just dont see a mass ABO exoudus.
Now, if you want to say that people that were on the fence with regards to voting for Romney would be pushed away by her, then you may have something. Condi certainly wouldn’t be a reach out and hug the conservatives candidate...I’ll concede that.
Dont get me wrong, she’s not my favorite choice either. Not defending the pick, just saying I cant see your typical ABO voter saying “now I’ll risk Obama and stay home” over her.
