While I voted in the primary yesterday, I saw one women come up to the booth, look at the machine display for awhile, then turn around and asked the monitor
"Don't they have a straight-party ticket here?"
The monitor had to explain to her that this was a primary only on who from each party should be on the November ballot.
My question is simple:
Should some imbecile like that even be allowed to vote?
No wonder we have Obama as President, when idiots show up knowing nothing about why they are even there.
Most people couldn’t tell you the difference between a primary and general election.
(Obviously, we are not spending enough on public schools!)
You know, I've wondered the same thing myself ... many times.
The Founding Fathers had wisdom.
The Founding Fathers had wisdom.
I believe owning real property (land, house, trailer, condo, etc.) should be a requirement for voting. When you own real property you have a stake in your community and will likely vote for people who will maintain these property values (through good economic growth, freedom to use your property to your benefit, low crime, etc.) This is good for society overall and was actually the law of the land when the country was founded.
And as far as the womens vote (yes, I'm a woman), I see them in more cases than not as cancelling their husbands vote. It sure messes things up.
Right now breathing isn’t a requirement.......
Do you mean “We don’t need no stinkin’ badges!” isn’t sufficient?
Criteria: SKIN IN THE GAME
You must be a property owner and pay taxes, or serve in the military.
How about being a landowner that actually pays taxes rather than receives money from the government? Those qualifications sound great.
One minute apart with the same idea...
“Should some imbecile like that even be allowed to vote?”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Obviously not but then someone who could not pass a background check to enter the military should not be allowed to be president either. A tax cheat should not be alllowed to be treasury secretary, a racist who refers to “my people” and refuses to prosecute “my people” for obvious crimes should not be allowed to be attorney general. These things have come about because any and every dingaling is allowed to vote upon reaching the age of 18. There is no reason whatsoever that a person of any age who is illiterate, unemployed and living on government handouts should be allowed to vote. This is so simple that anyone who even questions it should not be allowed to vote.
I’m all for conditions but we can’t even get past “are you a LEGAL citizen of this country ?”.......
Yes. Only males over Forty.
In my state, it is fine to haul a senile older person into the booth, and “help” them vote.
While not ideal, even the illiterate must be allowed to vote
in a free democracy.
That, however, is not the problem in America.
Criminal tugs now run the voting...people voting more then once, no voter ID, no poll control, illegals voting...the list goes on.
It should be simple, as it was when I last voted.
I walked into my polling place. Often I was known by the officials at the site. If not, my name was on their books, along with my voting records. While it never came up, I did have a voter registration card in case there was anything questionable.
I just can not see why anyone, other then a Commie democrap, could find anything wrong with this system.
Just as a side note:
In 1964, I had a summer job programing {mechanical) voting machines for the presidential election... Shelby County, TN.
I believe owning real property (land, house, trailer, condo, etc.) should be a requirement for voting.

Absolutely. Why should people who have no property have the right to raise property taxes on those who do? Where is the social justice ?(sarc).
How can we have objective standards for voters when the dead still vote?
