To hell with the GOP-e. Barring a miracle, they got their big government, unconstitutional mandate loving, socialist abortionist Obama-lite RINO on the ballot, they can now get him elected.

We are the resistance!!

Shove him down our throats today, we shove him up your donkeys in November!!

I can see November from my house!!

No, I do not think obama can destroy this country. I think people will vote in a republican house and senate and legislate the damage he did the past 3 1/2 years. I will not vote for anyone, especially a proabortion, progay marriage and progay indoctrination of the "gay lifestyle" to 5 year olds, out of fear, just because they have a “R” behind their name.

I think the gop-e has been working overtime getting there “chosen one” into office. Many people trusted the gop and believed them and romney about him being “seriously conservative”. I disagree.

Romney                                                     Obama
pro abortion                                               pro abortion
pro gay marriage                                       pro gay marriage
pro gay adoption                                      ?
pro cap and trade                                       pro cap and trade
pro tarp                                                       pro tarp
pro gun control                                           pro gun control
pro amnesty                                               pro amnesty
pro raising taxes                                        pro raising taxes
socialized heathcare                                 socialized heathcare
believer in global warming                          believer in global warming

Most conservatives are smart enough to look at what people DO and not what they say. Romney's fake pro life and pro family stands were for the primary. Romney would say one thing, then said or DID the opposite.  Romney can't be trusted to keep his word.

-Romney refused to go to ONE pro life or pro family event. He said conservatives will vote for him. He is arrogant and not a conservative. At least Obama respects his people enough to go to their events and ask for their votes.

-Romney overruled his own Commissioner of Public Health and lied about state law in order to compel Catholic hospitals to issue abortifacient pills.

-Romney aggressively BOOSTED government funding for pro-homosexuality indoctrination. Parents could not opt out their 5 yr olds from indoctrination.

-Romney forced all adoption agencies in MA to let gays adopt innocent children. The Catholic Church had to stop Catholic Charities Adoption Services after doing it for 109 years.

-Romney refused to sign the pro life pledge.

-Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA.

-Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.

-Supported Man-Made Global Warming.

-Supported the Brady Bill.

- Implemented a state level “Assault” Weapons Ban after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire.

-Supported TARP.

-Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here).

-Supported McCain-Kennedy (Amnesty).

-We know he was the one who went after Sarah and HER FAMILY four years ago. HE gave us Obama. I guess he believed if he can't win, our nominee can't either.

“I’m just as conservative as them,”

Conservatives are faced with a paradox. I’m answering the riddle by standing true to my own sense of integrity. I will not pull the lever for a big government, gun grabbing, homo supporting, abortion promoter. I don’t care what his name is.

We could argue the shades of gray all day long. That’s what got us here. I’m done with it. Romney can KMA.

I’ll insult little barry obama bastard commie as often as I like or am squelched, and your jibe isn’t going to squelch me. Okay? Did you read that as me calling Norm little barry bastard commie? Then ‘fail’ ... Or did you have something else in mind?

You might add to Rominy’s liberal history his giving 20 grand to Planned Barrenhood, IIRC. If the Pubbies cannot get a veto proof Senate, how will the republican control of Congress stop little barry bastard? He’s already ruling illegally and the republican controlled House isn’t stopping him. And now his fellow globalist employee is running the SCOTUS to support the unconstitutional rule.

Do you believe that barry bastard fascist can succeed in collapsing the nation if he gets four more years to work at it? Do you believe the collapse is going to happen regardless of who sits int he Oval Office?

I do not believe he can collapse the nation, but I think he can continue pushing us down the road to socialism, and I also believe that Romney will continue pushing us down the road to socialism. The difference is how fast they are pushing us.

This is a problem that we have been ignoring - both parties are supporting the kinds of things that will push us into socialism or into actions that will dilute the political power of Conservatives. Look at education - No Child Left Behind set the stage for eventual federal control of something that should be a county issue, a state issue at the most. While Teddy Kennedy was the champion for NCLB in Congress on the Senate side, and John Boehner on the House side, who was behind NCLB to begin with? The Bush administration - they were pushing it the week they entered the White House. Bush was pushing it within 3-4 days of taking office, and in people like Kennedy and Boehner he found his support. That's just one example, and btw, I don't think it's a coincidence that a Bush nominee helped save Obamacare in the Supreme Court, but there are other examples before and after Bush.

For over 20 years, we've been getting more and more moderate/left leaning nominees. Bush I, Dole, Bush II, McCain, and now Romney, the most liberal of the bunch. Now some people claim that it's just the way the country is and that we as Conservatives are a dwindling minority of old fuddy-duddies that belong in the 1950s and not the 2010s. Maybe that's true, but I know there are still enough of us around that the GOP can't keep holding us hostage.

Look at it this way. If you are in a car headed towards a cliff marked "Socialism", you don't want Obama or Romney in the driver's seat, because both are going to drive you right off that cliff, it's just a matter of whether you're doing 70mph or 30mph.

You want somebody who is going to put on the brakes. Right now, the GOP only seems interested in slowing things to slow down enough so that we, the Conservatives, will shut up and stop pestering them.

It's time to let go of your principles....the founding fathers would be supporting Romney 100%

Someone who thinks as you do, has no business posting to the internet's premier conservative forum. I've rarely seen so much confusion and lack of cognition in one person before.

Honestly, I think you're out of your depth here.

I believed Newt Gingrich could put those brakes on. Alas, GOP voters in the primaries were told that Newt’s marriage problems were a no starter, that he was not pure enough to be the nominee. Now we have this wet finger in the wind liberal who appears to be the nominee. Well, perhaps he doesn’t have the marriage baggage, but it is still unknown just which way his finger will feel the wind blowing. I would rather go with that however than to allow an enemy of This Republic another four years, because I beleive he can collpase this nation in that time. Until we have a veto proof majority against the commie bastard, We The People are in grave danger of losing our remaining sovereignty ... if it’s not already ended. I want to know what fools chose a Spanish Soros owned company to count American votes. THAT is too globalist elite deceit prone for my tastes. But then I favor a darn paper ballot with a copy to carry away from the voting booth, even if it takes a week or more to count all the votes. I’m no longer tolerant of treasonous vote cheating. Execute a few of the bastards is what I would do.

The man makes Bill Clinton look downright conservative in comparison and some FReepers have bought into their own fantasy that he’s some kind of great conservative firebrand.

Just the other day a longtime FReeper mistook my sarcastic praise and suggestion of loyalty oaths to Romney seriously. He sent me a FReepmail and suggested that the “puritans” be forever banned from FR and quite possibly thrown out of the country.

Shame on you Elsie! Don’t you know that Mitt cures the sick and helps the blind to see? He must be a miracle worker, afterall, he turned many of the conservative posters on Free Republic into a bunch of cowering sheep willing to trash anyone who speaks documented fact about their American Idol.

And note that when asked to point out a single error in any of my arguments, not a single Romney supporter will step up to the plate and do so. On this thread and a dozen others (check my post history) I have repeatedly done so. In 2 months, not one has responded with anything but talking points, diversion, personal attacks and fear of Barack Obama.

I wonder why that is.

I do not believe he can collapse the nation,”

I don’t either. Anyone wanting to be honest about this situation needs to look at why we are where we are. Yes, O and the dems have a whole lot to do with that, but at any point since the 10 election, our Republican held congress has had the power to stop them cold.

There is not a single legitimate reason Bohner could not have totally locked government down, refusing to pass/forward ANYTHING through the house until O and the Dems ‘moderated’ their takeover.

That’s why we elect people. To represent us.And they did not. Or more accurately, Bohner and McConnell did not. They played the DC game and ‘moderated’ themselves, shutting down the people we sent them in 10.

Barack Obama and the dems can only destroy America if Congress ALLOWS them to.

All this “Romney will...XXXXXX” crap is just crap. We don’t need Romney to do squat. We need Congress to fulfill it’s elected duty and REPRESENT the will of the people and exercize every iota of their power to do so. If they did that, then Obama would have no money to enforce his will.

Game, set, match.

And as I said to the ABO brigade earlier, I invite them to find a mistake in this logic as well.

Yup. Because MR will win (God help us) and every time he goes full Lib, which is a forgone conclusion, the ABO crowd will dance to the tune of “Well you shouldda voted for Obama then” and other crap.

Indeed, we will ‘enjoy’ many such moments.

So what do you propose, Jim? Not vote, vote third party, or vote and hold our nose?

"My question too, what are we supposed to do, let the dictator be re-elected?"

Not me. Yes, I'm voting for Romney.

The gut-wrenching feeling I get when I think about Obama's America-hating face grinning at me from the TV screen after he wins the election because the damn toddlers on our side sat it out is enough to get me to pull the lever for Romney.

We have a choice of two roads for the future of this country. TWO. That's reality. The reality also is that Romney is far better than Obama. If given another four years, Obama will sink his Marxist claws so deep into the fabric of this country that we'll never get them out. You want to live with that? If Obama is re-elected, Obamacare is also a reality. Forever. You want to live with that? You will NEVER get rid of it once it goes into effect.

I'm not going to stomp my feet, whine, vote for some third party nitwit, then watch my country be destroyed -- all the while patting myself on the back and telling myself how noble I am. That attitude is insane and anything but noble.

By the way, those of you who plan on sitting out the election: Realize that no one is going to notice your noble tantrum. No one will care. It will slip into the past. All that will remain is Obama in the White House.

"Noble tantrum," of course, is an oxymoron. People like you are almost as damaging to this country as leftists. As I said, after Obama wins, that's all anyone will notice or care about. It's all that will matter. That and the irreversible destruction he will cause. But hey, you're noble, right?

Just a thought:

Should the ABOers add

“Conservatism failed. I voted for a liberal to save America”

to their taglines?

Truth in advertizing and all that. I mean, they should be proud of what they are doing right?
