A Statement from Rush (Rush offers apology to Slut!)
Rushlimbaugh.com ^ | Mar 3, 2012 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 03/03/2012 2:15:11 PM PST by TSgt

For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit?In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone's bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

Rush is now a sellout like all others who get extorted by NOW, sponsors, the State-Run-Media, etc. Clear Channel most likely FORCED him to do it, though he would never admit it.

Are you trying to look retarded?

Rush initially managed with a few sentences to make all these folks appear to be vicious, heavy breathing, sex-crazed fools. He drew attention to Sandra Fluke being yet another stage in the propaganda effort of the Democrat Party.

In the end he didn't say, "Everything I said was wrong and I now support the government mandating private third parties to provide contraceptives for the wonderfully healthy exercise of their perfectly natural libidos." He merely said he chose the wrong words to do the critique that he in no way repudiates.

Are you not able to read and analyze and think at all?

It's a sad day to see so many on FR able to perform no better in the cognition department than those on DU.

Why not?

Conservatives can be quite a fickle bunch at times.

Personally. I think Rush strays off in to the worthless to much.

I listen to Wilkow.

Anybody know why the thread about Rush selling his soul was pulled? I did a refresh and it disappeared. Couldn’t find it in the search box either.

This phony contraception “issue” was planned at the highest levels by the DNC and Obama 2012 campaign. It was discussed for months. They despeately needed a wedge issue to win back the women they lost in 2010, or Obama would lose. And this is what they came up with. It revealed itself first as a seemingly bizarre question by George Stephanopoulos at that debate. It certainly doesn’t seem bizarre now - because we have been played by the best, step-by-step according to how Dr. Alinsky wrote it. And we fell for it. Rush fell into it. Sandra Fluke will one day be looked back at in the same way as Anita Hill. And make no mistake, this is going to hurt us BIG TIME on November 6th. When will we LEARN the Alinsky method, instead of merely being serial victims of it?

I think it is pretty clear that it was a coordinated Dem campaign strategy. To the extent they really gamed it out, I don't know. Like any other set of war plans, some things work and some things don't. Looks like the Obama campaign team's great "contraception gambit" has worked out very well for them so far.

Santorum being in the race I think has a lot to do with why they ran with this strategy. The Dem campaign team knows Rick has spoken on his personal opposition to contraception. They know Santorum has even said that as President he would be unique because he would talk about why contraception is "not okay". They know in Republican primaries there are actually social conservative voters who actually oppose contraception and would gravitate to Santorum's views on this. And of course every serious political strategist knows these very issues that help Rick in a GOP primary are political poison in a general election. Just talking about contraception is a loser for us. Imagine being stuck with a nominee who has said contraception is "not okay" and feels the need to yammer on about the issue?

Democrats are successfully changing the subject. We have 4 dollar gas right now and a pretty terrible economy, yet Obama is at near 50% approval rating. Imagine when gas prices go back down (and they will) and the economy continue continues improving somewhat.

You said...
“Rush did the right thing here.
He removed himself from the debate, while keeping his position on the issue intact.

The left was losing this debate bigtime until he used the word “slut”.

Now let's go back to them losing again”

Agree. The left wants to keep the focus on Fluke. Also, if I remember, Shultz did apologize for calling Ingraham a slut.

The bigger issue isn't Fluke but whether the government can force religious institutions, or anybody, to sell what it demands

I think the entire thing was planned by Rush from the beginning...

Bare in mind, his "word choices" weren't just a slip of the tongue and off the cuff. He said them first on Wednesday and the repeated them on Thursday and Friday well after the controversy had started. Since we can assume Rush is not stupid considering how long he's been on the air and how he's handled situations like this is the past. We must assume he wanted the controversy to expand (until today) and grow by doubling down on his original comments. So the million dollar question is why??

I think I know. Up till this controversy started, the Republican party and Presidential candidates were mired in the media created this contraceptive controversy. So Rush comes out and says what he says. Well now the media is no longer talking about Santorum, they are no longer ripping the Republicans in Congress. They are now all focused on a radio talk show host, who is not running for office. It also gives candidates like Santorum the ability to look down right mainstream when compared to Rush. So Rush is essentially playing "bad cop" and taking the fire so the Republican party can play "good cop".

I’m trying to recall when a vile leftist spewing on TV or radio made an apology. I can’t recall one, ever. Anyone?

And no, I do NOT think the left will be satisfied with this apology...

Pity is that this was the first time in years that I’ve looked forward to hearing Rush again. It was the first time in years that I’ve heard Rush and shouted, “Ditto!” My 14 year old daughter listened and was laughing - and screaming, “She wants US to buy her birth control pills?”

It doesn’t help that pathetic weenies like Boehner turn on Rush...or Santorum...or others. What is wrong with saying, “Buy your own damn pills!”, or even, “If you have 1,000+ sex partners each year, get off of your back and go get honest work!”

See my tagline. It is becoming more painfully true each day. I’m almost at the point of not asking God to have mercy on us, but asking Him to judge us instead.

"When are we going to go after Bill Maher, Ed Schultz and Keith Olberman? Why do they get off the hook?"

That will only happen when we get of our lazy duffs and force the MSM to do that. (Not directed at you personally, btw).

but if you’ve got an unmarried woman who needs $1,000 worth of birth control a year over a three year period, I’d think any number of terms would apply: slut, tart, tramp - take your pick.

It just makes her a LIAR. A FReeper last night posted the WalMart "cheapie" list and it listed a month's supply of bit control pills for a whopping....NINE DOLLARS!

Wrong for Rush to do this.

Rush IS NOT the issue. The enemies within tactics is the issue. I think David Horowitz put it this way "the issue is not the issue." The Left's "issues" are weapons.

About 50 years ago the left's idea of debating turned to screaming "Bigot!" "Nazi!" "Racist!"

No longer discussing the real issues like free speech the Left turned to making their opponents exclusively the issue.

I guess that's the influence of Alinsky.

It's what they do. It's how they've been "winning."

It became a kind of appalling dialectic -- with the Right attempting to escape the verbal assaults yielding 90 percent and the Left yielding at most 10 percent and the result is -- that the enemy within is close to putting an end to America the "shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere."

The Right only within the past 20 years started learning how to fight back in kind. We still got a lot to learn, it is clear.

Let patriots Levin and Savage handle this. They know how.

Well - when no one fights back against this stuff..........

Spent yesterday afternoon/evening and today on the Carbonite site countering the liberal rage.

Anyway, might be better politically if the Fluke sideshow ends now.
Let the religious bodies continue defending their 1st amendment rights.
The rest of us can refocus on Obama.
