Read a poll here on FR last night, Posted by another FReeper, and had a hard time sleeping. I woke up this morning with a couple of questions:
1. When 34% of the Tea Partiers polled are going for Romney, Paul or no one in FL today, what the hell is going on?
2. When many Evangelicals are voting for a Marxist Mormon today in FL, what the hell is going on?
I'm to the point that I've decided that most voters in America are stupid and this nation deserves what it will get with four more years of Barack Hussein Obama in the White House. So, let the good times roll, mama. To hell with all of them.
“Then they are foolish. Romney supports abortion and always has. His record as Governor is that of an uber-liberal. And he appointed two judges that belonged to homosexual rights groups and that ushered in homosexual marriage through the courts.”
On a side note, I have a long list of problems with Romney. I will be very disappointed if he is our nominee.
These are not foolish people. Just the opposite; they are very politically aware and some of the finest ladies in the county, who have very astute political instinct. Some have been the stalwarts of the local conservative movement for 30 to 40 years. Moreover, if we ever have a primary down here in Texas, I get the feeling that most will vote for Newt because of the reasons you mention.
To refresh your memory: The topic of the thread is to understand why Newt may lose Florida, not to debate the choices. Here is my rough hypothesis: 50 percent of R primary voters are women. Of that 50 percent, 50 percent are older, married, conservatives (who, among other things, despise adultery and infidelity). Of that second 50 percent, half can get over that repulsion and vote for Newt because of the best overall candidate analysis; the other half cant. Thus, Newts past actions are costing him about 12.5 percent of the primary vote.
So the abortion pushing, homosexual “rights” candidate is the real “conservative”?! Good grief!!!
You could not be more correct in your assessment.
Bunk. I’m a 61 yr old conservative woman and I will NOT vote for liberal Romney. Ever. Liberals like him are destroying the fabric of our society with liberal judges pushing homosexuality and abortion. Romney IS Obama.
Everybody always knew that Newt could get down and dirty, but many thought Romney was too “civil” a la McCain.
People are seeing Romney as “no more Mr nice guy” and thinking “I didn’t know this guy had it in him”.
To do what? Lie? FReepers always knew Slick Willard was a liar.
That's true. Obama doesn't have any friends. Anywhere. You can't even go downtown without friends.
These women give Romney the benefit of the doubt because he’s viewed as a moral man. Romney tells them what they want to hear and they believe him.
The GOP-e and Romney have overplayed their hand. The one good thing about all this is that they have been exposed in a way that is hard to ignore (people paying attention, like the Tea Party folks, already were aware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing).
I see a viable 3rd party coming out of this. The GOP-e was given a chance when the TP made the choice to work from within the Republican Party & what has it gotten them? Bad treatment of TP congressmen, scorn, derision, attacks ... and Mitt Romney. Nope .... not going to take it any more. I started voting Independent last election & will not hold my nose for GOP-e candidates that don’t pass the “smell” test.
RINO's only attack those in the same party who dare threaten the GOP-E.
And Romney is the unelectable GOP-E Dope.
According to the latest PPP poll (which showed Gingrich closing to within 8 of Romney, so it seems people like it more than others), Romney is the preferred 2nd choice for both Santorum voters, and Gingrich voters. With Santorum, 50% of his support would choose Romney 2nd. With Gingrich, 63% of his supporters would choose Romney 2nd.
So if either Santorum, or Gingrich, wasn’t in Florida, the polls say Romney would win a higher percentage of the vote, and win by a higher percentage of the vote.
I say don’t trust the polls. Of course, if we don’t trust the polls, then there’s no reason to argue that Gingrich is “more electable”, or “ahead of”, or “is the frontrunner”. If we are ignoring electability, and ignoring the polls, there’s no logical reason to attack Santorum for being in the race.
In the last election, the Tea Party candidate in Nevada lost to Harry Reid. HARRY REID!! Newt could lose to the Bamster. It could easily happen.
If they only did a little checking they would see how morally bankrupt Romney really is.
The Dems have mastered vote fraud.
Good point!
what troubles me the most is that people in public we thought were conservative are supporting this guy or unwilling to truly fight him
the only folks fighting him are Sarah Palin, Fred, and to a limited degree Mark Levin
and a much much less degree Rush
that is it
you know it’s bad when on FOX you see Bill O’Reilly as most fair to Newt.
If the currently divided Tea Party can’t get their act together and realize that they can have alot of influence on picking the nominee if they stop supporting candidates who can’t win or liberal ones who model Obama..then they will get what they deserve and become obscure.
I’ve been saying this for a few days now.
The establishment are so ignorant of the base that they attack us, mock us and then after they do their damage to our guys they then hope and say we will unite to beat obama
NO FIN CHANCE
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY EVER
you watch they’ll put another Sarah on the ticket to shut us up but this time if anyone falls for it then they really are stupid.
