struck from behind by the right front fender of a 2007 Toyota Tundra

A Tundra in Florida? Now that would be funny, if this weren't a sadly common situation.

Because seriously, folks, people driving tanks SUVs have a harder time seeing objects to the side and below of their tanks SUVs. They are therefore much more likely to strike bicyclists, pedestrians, pets ... and children.

No need for a Tundra in Florida. Not if you're just toolin' around town.

I propose a law to ban all SUVs in Florida unless a verified (any form of certified gov’t ID) resident can provide sufficient evidence that a need is required for such a vehicle. If need is not determined to be valid by a panel of seven delegates appointed by the governor, then no vehicle over 1,500 pounds should be allowed.

Does that sound good to you?

Psst.... A Tundra is a pickup truck.

Not if you're just toolin' around town

Some people use pick up trucks to tote their tools.

I thought the Toyota Tundra was a pickup, not an SUV...which would make your complaint a non sequitur.

From personal observation, usually it’s the bicyclist behaving badly, not the car driver. Not that the car driver is particularly innocent, but it’s usually the bicyclist breaking one or more traffic laws to begin with.

for the record, a tundra is a pickup truck.

Your prejudice indicates your inability to drive

By the way, here are some typical bicyclists that I’ve seen.

They almost ALL do stupid crap like this. And then they wonder why they get hit. Note: Videos not shot from an SUV.

So you get to determine need and what vehicles other people can own. Who do you think you are, Obama?

How do you know this person was just "toolin' around town" in a truck? Maybe that person needs a truck for their business or lifestyle. What do you care what any other person drives anyway?

Are you one of those who wants to see Americans forced out of their trucks and SUVs, and into government approved econo boxes?

Sheeesh.....

Hey bud, you sound like the typical liberal, wanting to tell others what they should or should not drive.

Pack it in. Around here we value our individual liberties to buy and own what we want to buy and own. You're on the wrong damned website - go try a liberal site, you'll obviously be more welcome there.

I live in Florida and own 2 Tundra’s. One has 420,000 miles on it. I don’t get what you are talking about. By the way it is not an SUV but rather a pick up truck.

I drive a Tundra and I have a lot better field of vision in my Tundra than any passenger car I've ever driven.

No need for a Tundra in Florida. Not if you're just toolin' around town.

Well the next time you're in an accident in your little death trap compact you'll only wish you had been driving a Tundra.

Technically, youre correct. The tundra runs along the northern edges of Russia and other countries whose land run up around the arctic circle or thereabouts.

My friend bought a big truck, has to step way up to get in. So he told me lots of people were honking horns at him on the road. Why's that? Well, he'd go to make a lane change or right turn and someone to the right would honk. I said did you look before making the move. "Well I can't see below the right side of the truck! If they're there, they need to get out of the way." Jesus, I screamed at him that someday he would kill someone, or someone else would kill him as a result of his actions! Sadly, he passed away this year, but others are now safer.
