Russian ship, allegedly carrying tons of weapons, made a dash for Syria after Cypriot officials allowed it to leave their waters, Turkish officials said Thursday.

Turkey stopped an Iranian convoy carrying “military equipment” bound for Syria a few days ago. Something’s up.
Cypriot officials told by the ship's owners it was heading for Syria and Turkey only allowed the ship to leave Wednesday after the owners said it had changed its destination for Turkey only. How dastardly of them to not tell the truth. But Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Selcuk Unal citing information from the Turkish navy said the ship had docked Thursday at the Syrian port of Tartus, which Russian warships use as a resupply stop.
The St. Vincent and Grenadines-flagged ship, the Chariot, had apparently turned off its tracking device and the information could not be independently verified.
One does wonder where the arms are headed and what is being planed with them. I would bet that Iran's fingerprints are all over this.
I am more of a wonder at what gives Turkey the right to tell Russia where its ships can sail.
At such a time as this, Achmadimajob is Venezuela and Cuba. What they are planning is going to occur a little closer to home as well.
Cyprus is run by communists who support Neo-Soviet Russia and the islamofascist Syrian regime. Cyprus is a Communist Russian trojan horse in the EU.
Relax, Misha. Syria is not islamofascist YET.
I guess Hizballah is not muslim terrorists in your book either just like Russia’s.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I guess Hizballah is not muslim terrorists in your book either just like Russias.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well, Hizballah is a group operating within a limited territory. It is more nationalist than islamist in nature with limited goals which don’t include attacks on US soil. It targets US allies so it pretty worth to be eliminated, but not this time and not at the price of building a greater islamic khaliphate in Middle East and North Africa run by people who has unlimited goals including eradication of everything non-islamic.
Got my point?
As for Russia it is a player with own interests. It is not in spreading terrorism even if it works like that as a collateral.
Neither sides are angels, sure. Just look at the alternative. I root for Assad and Russia in this situation. Unfortunately you can’t choose between good and bad all time. Often it is bad vs absolute awful.
What can you say on that arguments?
You haven’t told a new thing.
I told you Hizbollah is one nasty group, so does Hamas which is a similar group.
Russia was wrong in it’s moral support towards them as part of a zero-sum game with the West supporting Russian islamic separatists.
Iran is bad as well, but it still a nation with exact people at the wheel who won’t sit there forever. Iranian people gon’t like mullahs, so does everyone in this world and as Iran is a middle income nation they have more chances to have a decent republic after dismantling regime with their own hands or foreign intervention comparing to Egypt or Syria. They are also fed with Islam so I doubt if Al-Qaeda is to hold ground there after.
I’m not telling Syria, Russia and Iran are good. I’m telling even a broken clock is right once a day.
All these players are right in their countermeasures against that kind of community organizing in Middle East which is about to create an Islamist superstate with huge financial and military power, with people like Osama bin Laden, who proved to be much worse than Iranese mullahs, in charge.
Got my point again or not?
Imagine Afghanistan-like sharia ruled nation which has a territory size of Europe and population of United State, economic power of Germany, controlling 70% global oil, with nukes and decent military technology (Egyptian Abrams tanks, Saudi F-15s, Syrian nukes).
That is all an ‘Arab Spring’ is about.
Do you want to live in a world like this? Ok, death to Q-duffy, Mubarek and Assad! Viva la ‘freedom fighters’!
Thanks, but no thanks. I’d like to stay with Hamas and Hizbollah instead to screw them later.
No I don’t agree that the people fighting Assad are worse than the Ayatollahs. Nobody in the US is buying that crap and if they are then they are stupid suckers for KGB propaganda.

Ok keep not ‘buying KGB propaganda’.
I prefer to belive things I see this my own eyes.
It has worked so well to Lybia there they put minorities into concentration camps, massacred black Africans and enforcing Sharia, it worked nice for Egypt with museums full of ancient artefacts survived for thousands years before these days burned and looted as ‘pagan things’, Christian Copts are massacred, churches are burning, uncovered women are beaten in the streets.
Oh, ye, freedom foghters, KGB propaganda, I see...
Ok, your mind is spoiled, you can’t get my point.
It is plain naive to pick sides in conflict like this on a basis if either side is a murderer SOB. The truth is everyone in Middle East is like that. It is a pert of their culture.
Thus, we are all free people. You can celebrate everything you wish.
And don’t turn my words upside down. I haven’t said Ayatollahs are any better than these jihadi ‘women and children’. I just told they are easier target to defeat via numerous channels including direct military attack.
An idea of arab democracy is about a mob rule with million people in the streets intoxicated with unused testosterone screaming ‘Death to Israel! Death to America!’ Secular dictators are a mean to contain this crap.
