Turkey says a Russian ship, allegedly carrying tons of weapons, has docked at a Syrian on port on Thursday after Cypriot officials allowed it to leave.
The ship had made an unscheduled stop in Cyprus, violating an EU embargo on arms shipments to Syria, which has killed thousands in a crackdown on dissent. Cyriot officials on Wednesday allowed the ship to leave after it changed its destination to Turkey.

A Russian vessel, Chariot, laden with ammunition docked at the Syrian port of Tartus Jan 12 after the owners told officials Jan 10 the ship would change its destination from Syrias Latakia to near Turkey
Faked them out. Probably will say, "We said Tartus, you heard Tarsus."
Duplicitous Russians, playing their same old games.
So much for Hillary's reset button.
Russia has chosen sides. They will likely correct any shortage of nuclear scientists in Iran as well.
“Russia has chosen sides”
I’m sure hussein will make them next on his list to disperse any classified weapons info.
I wonder who Putin is endorsing. I know he hates Zippy, the punch bowl invader. Guess that just leaves Romney.
To paraphrase the last Grail Knight: They chose poorly.
However displeasing that might sound to a true democrat, the dictatorial regime of Assad is "their SOB" as well as "our SOB" and even Israel's SOB.
From a democratic point of view Assad should leave and the people of Syria should be able to elect a new government. However that's in theory. In practice everyone knows that once Assad falls radical Muslims are bound to take over. Only a hopeless idealist would think today that a genuine democracy could suddenly sprout there, after decades of dictatorship and in a heavily Muslim culture.
Israel knows that, and that's why there are no cries of indignation from Jerusalem about this and other arms shipments. Israel can't be directly involved, of course. However Israel values stability, and Assad is someone who can be negotiated with, and applied pressure to. You can't sign deals or threaten an amorphous blob of goo, a movement, an idea.
On top of that, Assad's regime appears to have WMD - chemical at least, and perhaps nuclear (what was that thing that Israel was bombing in a desert?) If Assad falls then an all-out invasion becomes necessary to secure those weapons. Much easier to let Assad stay.

Yep, Russian choice is bad in terms of diplomatic perspective. Considering a fact Assad has little chances to stay afloat their support towards him hurts Russian influence in future Middle East there sane secular dictators you can talk to replaced with crazed Al-Qaeda nuts (with Euronazy and Democrat support).
To me it says a lot about Russian diplomacy. They value principles over influence and geopolitic goals. It is pretty decent to me. They say no to Al-Qaeda.
Saying “no” to al Qaeda and “yes” to a puppet of the Iranian Twelvers isn’t much of a difference, IMO.
Russians are playing chess while others are playing checkers. Remember my words, Russians themself won’t let Iran to have a bomb.
They are carefully arranging a situation to wipe Iranese regime out with someone’s else hands.
The only thing I know about Russians playing chess is that Deep Blue beat Kasparov.
Pretty predictable. Kasparov is a filthy liberal Soros’s ass-clown right now. Probably out of his mind for a while.
