You’re right, he did great. There is nothing arrogant about Rick Perry - like some other politicians. For years we have hated Obama’s arrogance, it’s a major failing in his character.
No more Coronas, it’s bed time now, lol.

If you truly believe he apologized, then explain why he fell so far and so fast in the polls.Because the media and the left don't want him to be our nominee. I knew he was doing better in the polls last week before it was even announced because the stories started filling the news again about how disillusioned conservatives were with Perry. And then they started with the push polls that he could never beat Obama.
Perry is a true conservative. Let's not let the libs and their media pick our guy (or gal) this time around.

While Perry had a couple of good answers, he is still what I would call a "reactive thinker". When he is first out he typically struggles. He seems to depend on others to direct his train of thought then piggybacks on their answers. That works in a setting like tonight, but will get him destroyed in a one on one. I don't' know WTH that has to do with governing, but to govern you first have to win.
That said I still don't trust Perry on immigration, the border or ethics in government. He is way down my list.

his Dad wasnt poor
they lived well in Mexico owned land etc until they left when George was about 5 and came to the United States because of Pancho Villa.....
I don't care for Clint Eastwood's politics, but he summed it up well when he Romney looks like a President, but that's about it. I half expected Romney to complain about how when he was a kid, his parents cut his allowance in half for a few weeks and he learned how poor people live.
It was a stupid question though because most of these people are decades removed from when they were truly poor (if they were poor at all), and most weren't raising families at that point in their lives. Being poor as a kid is leagues different from being poor while supporting your own family. The two do not compare at all.
As nutty as Ron Paul is, his comment about not knowing he was poor as a kid struck home, as I was in a similar situation as a kid. I can say that I grew up poor, but I have no real concept of what that meant, because I always had a roof over my head and always had food, and always had clothes to wear.
My father and mother on the other hand knew what being poor was in a way that I thank God I never had to know, both during the Great Depression and then raising a family on a very meager enlisted man's salary. I still don't know how they did it without going into debt.

Some people are still “hurt” from being called heartless...sensitive, aren’t they?

Mitt and his father were BOTH born in Mexico, in the polygamist cult that the grandfather brought down there.

Even if Perry were to get the nomination, he killed his chances in the general election with the Strong ad.
Wrong. That ad will resonate with middle America. Gay issues lose whenever they're put up for a vote. Don't let a bunch of pro-gay media whiners convince you that they speak for anyone other than a horde of leftists who would never vote for Perry in any event.

"Romney....the man whos lived 68 years and never in his life ever ever rocked the boat...not once...and he is so proud of that."I never could warm up to Mitt Romney and never quite knew why, but tonight when he wanted to place a $10,000 dollar bet with Rick Perry (and this was the second time he did that) I knew why I couldn't warm up to him. He could throw out $10,000 dollar bets like it was peanuts. There is no way he can relate to the common people.

If Romney was born in Mexico...doesn’t that give him the same problem that Zero should have had?

You signed up yesterday to promote Ron Paul? Too bad.

Because the media and the left don't want him to be our nominee.
That is not why he fell in the polls and why so many were angry at him on Free Republic. Perry's problems happened because of his mistakes.
To: Tennessee Nana
Interesting that they are trying to ask people about Romney’s answers, and not Gingrich’s, since Gingrich was the one they were trying to take out....sounds like somebody is still trying to pretend that Romney is the front runner.
To: LUV W
IMHO, it sure does. And I’ve been making sure to tell everyone I know about it.
To: JosephMama
What debate were you watching? Ron second and Mitt third? Newt clearly the winner (protecting leader status), Mitt either fifth or sixth and had THE blunder of the debate with $10,000 bet. Priveledged gambling Mormons just never get elected President. “What, me worry” Paul same incoherent stand on foreign policy, and clearly not Presidential timber.
