Cain voted for Clinton/Gore - Perry says he voted for GHW Bush.
Perry has fought the EPA and calls the Global Warming camp a “carbon cult.”
He is very strong on border security and deportation, implementing the use of DPS and Rangers in Texas. He insists that the Feds pay for the costs of illegals in Texas, sent a bill to the Department of Homeland Security.

He’s on record as opposing free education for the children of illegals and notes the the Plyler decision was one of the examples of over reaching by the Supreme Court.

Lean Six Sigma may be overrated corporate-kumbaya tripe, but forcing it upon the federal workers would be a 500% improvement.

Yeah...start with ISO9000....

1...Say what you do

2...Do what you say

3...and document it.

4.....Independant auditors verify the whole works.

I wonder how many more and better symphonies Mozart would have produced if only he had been subjected to Lean-Six-Sigma.

“Fact: Perry was a demrat.”
You must not be from Texas. He was raised in a Democrat home. We had many conservative or Reagan Democrats at that time. Lots and lots of Texans were in that same situation. When he supported Al Gore, ol’ Al wasn’t as liberal as he is now.
“Fact: Perry supported Al Gore candidacy.”
SEE ABOVE
“Fact: Perry supports the global warming politically charged nonscience.”
STUPID FACT....SO WRONG
“Fact: Perry does not support meaningful border security.”
WRONG AGAIN! I PARTICIPATED IN A TRAIL SECURITY PROGRAM. DON’T EVEN GO THERE
“Fact: Perry believes illegal alien children have a right to free education.”
HALF TRUTH. WHY DON’T YOU ACTUALLY READ WHAT PERRY THINKS ABOUT THIS PROGRAM.
“Fact: Perry signed a hate speech law. These devices are routinely used by demrats to suppress oppositon voices.”
WRONG AGAIN
“Fact: Perry pushed and shoved his way into the first Iowa caucus fray. He tried to make it appear he was the winner with a bunch self-serving press releases and outcome based polling.”
I DO BELIEVE ALL CANDIDATES WERE INVITED TO PARTICIATE. THIS IS AMERICA, ISN’T IT?

“I believe the RINO Perry is a demrat mole. RINOs like Perry, Romney and Boehner control the GOP. They in turn are controlled by the demrats.”
THIS IS SUCH A STUPID STATEMENT, IT DOESN’T EVEN DESERVE AN ANSWER.

I graduated from 'BAMA in 1980. Was there for Bear Bryant and back-to-back national championships, 1978-79. Those years were truly the best time of my life. I hate that Bama lost last night, but we might have a shot to still go to the national championships and maybe against the same team, which would be one heckuva re-match! I watched the game. How did the debate go? Anybody think these two will wind up as the final ticket? That'd be a DREAM TEAM IMHO.

As you are an ardent Perry supporter, I can see how you would see the issue that way. But I, as a Gingrich supporter, didn’t see a sleazy handling of the hunting preserve rock, etc. that way. The media played folks to divide and have an advantage for their barry bassturd ‘wonderblack’ socialist messiah. It’s waht dead soul liberals do, they exploit your zeal and or your dedication. What the divide and conquer slugs are doing right now is all aimed at not only trashing ALL Republican candidates but reducing turnout of conservatives by generating ‘hurt feelings’. Let’s hope conservatives can see beyond feelings, to toss these commie bastards out, for this may be our last chance to save the Republic.

So the new Perry talking point is going to be “Empowerment Zones are a bail out”

Better rethink your strategy. The Empowerment Zone idea is from the Reagan tax plan.

Not real sure the Perry campaign wants to be seen trash talking talking the Reagan legacy.

At the rate the Perry camp is going they might just managed to be the 1st candidate in GOP history to go from 30% in the polls to last place.

"For better or worse we live in a soundbite society where people have to be able to think on their feet. I’m not convinced that Perry can do that."

After seeing him in several debates, I'm firmly convinced he can't do that!

Cain was adamant in his answer to me that OZ is not a bailout, because it's tax incentives, empowerment and special opportunities for the cities where the poorest blacks and the poorest hispanics live. There was no mention at all of other demographic groups.

And no mention that the people would be running OZ would most likely be the same people who crashed those cities.

A Bailout is a Bailout

I'll bet he's teared up a few times over the last few weeks about what he's done to his own campaign.

I can't help but think that the "heartless" comment was the closing thing we've seen to a "Hey y'all, watch this..." moment in politics.

You keep telling yourself that Hoc. Go for it. When the opposition is busy digging themselves into a hole, smart opponents get out of the way.

My question is why, if he’s toast and croutons and completely out of it, why are they spending so much time ATTACKING him?

Hi Charles, I'd say the reason Perry is catching so much flak is due to the initial fervor his supporters pressed on other FReepers at the beginning of his campaign. I saw many people subjected to posts that ridiculed their support of other candidates in favor of supporting Perry because he could beat romney.

Many times the argument was used that people should drop their candidates in favor of Perry because he was polling higher at the time.

Many of us looked at his history and had his suspicions and debate on such topics were never resolved without someone ridiculing such concerns.

Then he did something spectacular - he actually performed the political equivalent of a "Hey y'all - watch this!" moment on live TV during a debate. It would not have been so bad if we didn't have previous reservations on the issue, if it hadn't been a MAJOR conservative issue and if his own history hadn't shown many, many liberal inclinations in the past. It just didn't support an overnight transformation into a conservative we could count on to represent us properly. The vote was "no confidence".

So now the screw has turned. Perry's about to be beat in his own home state of Texas and is polling in low single digits in most major primary states. He became a joke in short order to many of us, this was not just due to his performance where he destroyed himself, but the dismissive attitude many posters had towards candidates who are now so far ahead of Perry that there's almost no perceivable chance he can make any difference before the first major primary.

So yes, many of us have been justifiably dismissive of him.

However, we will welcome all of you with open arms when you are ready to drop Perry and support someone else who can beat both obama and romneycare...

But don't kid yourself, Perry is over. Speaking on behalf of many, we feel like we are approaching Titanic passengers drowning in the freezing water, offering them a hand into the boat and they are responding "What do you mean the ship sank?"

If there's a good thing I'll say about Perry at this point of the race, he has loyal friends. It just isn't enough now. It's time to reconsider and look at new alternatives. If us Palin supporters can do it, others can too.

“WHY didn’t Newt do it? He complimented Cain many, MANY times. It made me think that the ticket is already set.”

I’m thinking that too. And a fantastic ticket it would be. I could easily overlook the few concerns I have about Newt if he were the VP.

"I was not that impressed with Cain or Gingrich parroting Perry’s well known stance."

Good grief! Are you guys for real?!?! Frankly, if it's "Perry's stance", then he should be thanking Cain and Gingrich for speaking it for him, since he obviously can't articulate anything for himself.

I was 100% undecided and open-minded going into the debates. The only stances of Perry's I learned: 1. Texas made a lot of jobs. 2. Conservatives are heartless. 3. He puts life first. 4. Romney is bad. It seems to me he was asked a lot of other questions, but for the life of me it was hard to pay attention through the stuttering to figure out what he was saying.

I am now 100% closed-minded on Perry. My bar wasn't set high. Though I have preferences on the others now, I'm still 100% open to, in alpha order, Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich and Santorum. I will vote for the person I judge the better of the top two contenders when it's time for CA to vote. So if the rest of the party says it's between Perry and Romney, then that MA RINO is the only one Perry would have had to beat out for my vote. But now, after seeing that my Shetland Sheepdog could do better in a debate than Perry, I'd even prefer Romney over him. I'm not worried about making that choice though, because the polls and FR comments make it very obvious that most Republican voters have come to a similar opinion about Perry.

Just to substantiate my comment about Perry getting beat in his own home state of Texas, I am including a very recent link detailing 1 poll of many showing the trend.

Perry's recent stumbles appear to have hurt his standing even in his own back yard.

"Again, Perry needs something big like an out-of-the-park debate performance to give him a shot back up."

It's too late for that. Even if he shows he actually can string two sentences together coherently one evening, I'd always be worried that the blathering idiot version of Perry might show up in a debate against Obama. I'm undecided on (meaning "I'd have no problem voting for") several of our good candidates. I'm 100% decided AGAINST Perry, and from what I've seen on this forum, I'm not alone.
