My personal favorites are:
1) Bachmann
2) Cain
3) perry
Cannot get excited about Gingrich or Santorum.

For now, I am looking but not seeing anyone in the current crop. For me to get me behind any one of them, they are going to have to prove themselves conservative front and center.

This attitude will ensure an Obama victory. I'm no Romney fan, but whatever he is...he doesn't hate the country.
To those who plan on throwing a tantrum should Romney win the GOP nomination; hope you have a nice time explaining to your children and grandchildren why you decided to give a known Marxist four more years to destroy the country.
I hope Cain wins, but if it is Romney, I'm begging you folks to reconsider your: “No way in hell would i vote for that guy...” At least Romney doesn't hate the country like Obama.

I've seen conflicting reports about Perry's voting record.
I will defer to your information and retract my previous statement.

I absolutely believe in Cain. He won me over completely with what I heard from him when I was at the Orlando Straw Poll. I believe he and Sarah are going to be closely working together. They are the two most powerful conservative dynamos we have on the battlefield.

What baffles me is why did the establishment want Christie to run if Romney was going to win the nomination. Two points give me hope: Romney didn’t win in 2008 before the rise of the TEA Party movement, and he seems to be at his ceiling in the polls. The battle appears to be among the not-Romney contenders.

Just a bit different here.
1. Cain
2.Bachmann
Perry and Gingrich are a distant third and tied. I much prefer the first two, they seem to have strong character and are good conservatives.
To: Jim Robinson
Cain or Perry. Newt’s going to be someone’s VP nominee.

“... but I am also trying to dissuade FReepers from trashing Perry too much just in case we wind up nominating him for some reason.”
That is what I wish would happen. Perry is far from perfect but he is rock solid on quite a few conservative issues.
If worthless liberal bastard Romney gets the nomination I will leave the POTUS slot blank. I loathe his rotten filthy guts!

Cain. I like Bachmann too but her campaign doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. I could even live with Santorum or Gingrich. Perry?...no thanks.

So are you saying it’s too late for Palin? or when is the official latest she can run... what if there is a draft? Millions of people want her to run. That is a FACT.

You’re just not getting it, pal. No way in hell will I vote for an abortionist, gun grabbing, big government socialist mandate loving global warming advocate scum bucket for president!! Call me every name in the book if you wish but no way, Jose!! If the GOP goes progressive with Romney, then it’s not that I left the GOP, the GOP will have left me.
FR is and will forever remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Liberty, pro-Constitution, pro-Gun, pro-Free Market grassroots traditional American patriotic conservative site.
The progressive GOP be damned!!
It’ll be time for a second party!!

I think it's time for conservatives to wake up and smell reality that a) Perry IS a conservative and b) he IS the ONLY conservative who is electable -- can beat Romney and Obama.
Your A and B are both wrong. But nice try. Show me a single conservative out there that would dare call those who oppose illegals 'heartless'.

In 2008 Romney couldn't beat McCain and even Huckabee came out ahead of Willard by a few delegate votes. I think the GOP establishment knows deep down, Romney can't beat Obama. They thought Christie could. Now it'll be Romney with his 35% ceiling of moderate-liberal GOP voters, versus Perry, Cain and may be Bachmann dividing the GOP's conservative vote. Do the math.

The filing deadlines to get on the ballots of several States is the last day of October. If you aren’t on a ballot for the primary for people to vote for you, then there is no point running.
