My personal favorites are:
1) Bachmann
2) Cain
3) perry
Cannot get excited about Gingrich or Santorum.
The so called groups marching on wall street are funded by Soros via DNC. It is good that Cain insults the DNC posers.
I think we need to put all Perry’s positives and negatives on the scale.
Positives:
Pro-life
Pro-gun/2nd Amendment
Pro-Small government
Anti-Tax
Anti-regulation
a “global warming skeptic” — suing the EPA, realizing it’s a job-killer
He has a record of low taxes, low regulation, pro-private enterprise and job creation
Pro-secure border: asked for Naional Guard troops for the border, spent Texas money to secure the border, because the Federal government wouldn’t do it, wants “boots on the ground” to secure the border — for the terrain and river fence is not the best solution, his ideas are better for Texas, he DOES want to secure the border
Excellent fund raising ability (needed to beat Romney and Obama)
Palin endorsed him and campaigned for him for his reelection campaign and called him “a true conservative”
He can talk without a teleprompter and his speeches are just fine
Negatives:
After Texas Legislature passed law to give in-state tuition to children of illegal immigrants, with only four votes against him, he didn’t veto the measure, “to make a statement”, when his veto would have been easily overridden.
Foot-in-mouth in the debate — let he/she who never said something they regretted throw the first stone, especially after hours of everyone ganging up on him over one or two issues
Are Perry’s negatives so bad that we should rather have Romney walk away with the nomination and then be beaten by Obama? THIS is the real question. Let us take a step back and consider the above.
2.) Michelle.
Cain > Bachmann > Perry
Will not vote for Mittens or nut job Paul.
I agree.............
The more I hear Cain the more I like him..............
(if zero's wife can take her kids to another country and list them as senior advisers on tax payer dime and have their grandmother live in the White House, surely the Palin grandparents could also live in the White House to look after Piper and Trig. We will draw the line that Piper and Trig can't be listed as Senior Advisors. But yes, let Mr and Mrs Heath live in the White House like zero's mother in law which is not a problem for most Americans.)
The issue needs to be Defined for CERTAIN.
No one, Jim. I’m sick. There is absolutely zero chance that Cain can overcome Romney’s riches. Sorry, Bob
Cain or Perry. Bachmann hasn’t a chance, she’s damaged goods (self-inflicted at that).
Ronald Reagan announced in NOVEMBER, 1979. There's at least another 45 days before the field is fixed.
Thanks for the ping/pic/post. Sarah would have been my choice, also. I respect her decision...and yes, I’m a little disappointed.
Well with Palin out it is time to focus on the best conservative candidate.
I like Bachmann on the issues BUT, she can’t articulate the issues in a positive optimistic way. That is a big issue for me.
Reagan and Palin exuded OPTIMISM, that is a key especially for a conservative, since the MSM will be putting them in a negative light.
Cain talks about America and his plans in a way that can inspire. I know he doesn’t have experience as a political executive, if you want to alter the system that can be a good thing, he won’t be tied to think totally inside the box as Perry might. Cain has analytic abilities as a result of his background that could be invaluable.
So Cain is it for me now. He will beat Obama I don’t think Bachmann can SELL a positive conservative vision. That is the bummer about Sarah not running she is right on the issues and communicate that vision in a positive and optimistic way.
Cain.
Rick Perry looks like Bush III to me. Makes my stomach turn.
Don’t forget pro-10th. He’s the strongest I’ve ever heard speak for the states rights and against too much Federalism.
Cain, by all means. and Sarah Palin for Secretary of Interior. :o)
The filing deadlines have moved forward by months since Reagan announced. It isn’t about how far before November 2012 you announce, it is if you file papers early enough to be on the first state’s ballots. Now, if a candidate doesn’t file by the end of October, they won’t be on South Carolina or New Hampshire’s ballots for the primary.
Jobs Czar? Are you serious? NO MORE CZARS!
Romney is the establishment candidate and has the money, organization and front runner status to start his march towards a primary victory. The time frame is short. Willard has gained the upper-hand. I find his new found acceptability and viability downright scary. FReepers should not be passing on any conservative to beat Romney.
I will vote for Perry if he’s the last man standing against Romney. But that would mean the more conservative Bachmann and Cain have both given up the ghost.
